Rye Field Models announced their Sheridan quite some time ago. Now the company posted the boxart image and the expected release date.

I agree, Tamiya's new kit lacks some multi-media detailing and any option for a Gulf War model.

Yep, Me too-- it was announced well over a year ago. The sprue shots look nice, and it may have some breech detail, the LRF, and other options the Tamiya kit lacks to build an M55A1 or the TTS version. But I understand the price will be upwards of $60 too. By the Way, I just received David Doyle's new book on the M551, and it has some great interior photos for those interested.

O yes, I'm hoping that this is not another fake news from RFM. I also pre-ordered it in Nov. 2018 from Luckymodel.com. After 10 months of waiting, I cancelled the order and got a refund recently.

From what I heard through the rumor mill, there was some issues with the kit that where spotted and they went back and corrected them, delaying the release of the kit.

Hi, Everyone!
I'll hold off on any "pre-ordering" until there's a definite release-date... At least we know the thing is "close"(?)...

I seldom pre-order anymore. I've had a couple of bad experiences (Hobby-Link USA was the worst). I like to wait for my LHS owner to get it in-- and I'll occasionally "pre-order" from him. But I'd consider pre-ordering from reputable on-line shops- like Squadron (but I believe they've removed this kit from their "Pre-Sell" section), or HLJ-- I also understand Ammo is pretty good. Sprue Brothers has a rule about no pre-orders--wisely so I think. Having worked in the business for a few years, I know quantities are limited by several factors, and dealers can't always guarantee they'll get the numbers the customer base demands. Which is why I "buy now" rather than wait. Hopefully RFM has anticipated the demand for this kit.
