I would love to do a campaign but my time and skills are both lacking. I love Bronco kits and will be watching this campaign with interest. Good luck to all of you who are participating.

Skill level has little to do with the campaigns Jeff. We all have to start somewhere and we are all in various stages along the journey. None of us consider ourselves to be 'Gods Gift to the modelling world", so do not feel intimidated.

The whole idea for campaigns is for people of all skill levels to get together and have fun, and if some can help others to better their skills or give them help with research, tips, etc, and most importantly, give encouragement (especially to finish), all the better.

We would love for you to join in, even if you don't finish. You may still get benefit from tapping into the collective as we go along.

Thanks so much.I've been modeling for about 50 years...whew...that sounds like a long time. I am not a horrible modeler and I am fairly decent with an airbrush but I do get intimidated by the wonderful work I see here. I might just give it a try.

Thank you. I might just try a campaign later.

With a break in my other modeling projects, I started work on the Bronco Dongfeng-1 missile. My first step is to work on the launch base. Having built a number of V-2 missiles in various scales, this is the most detailed V-2 type launch base that I have seen. Great detailing Bronco!I have the main structure of the launch base built. Next step is to add around 15 or so tiny detail pieces before painting. Here's how it looks without the detail parts:

Rather than have the launch base sit by itself on my shelf when finished, I dug through my stash and found an old resin base in 1/72. Here's the launch base sitting on the unpainted resin base:

Stay calm and model on!

Hi! My work progress. I was able to assemble the Panzerjager battle compartment and apply some paint.

So far from me.
Have fun. Kalin

... and they call me overachiever... What is it Kalin, third, fourth model this year? As I see you put yourself in self isolation long before outbreak. You have any connections with new world order we should know about? Any tips like what to aspect in the future!?
Looks good so far, continue please...

I see an influx of overachievers

Well done, Kalin!

I guess what will happen if we are forced to stay home- we'll need to introduce a new category: "The over-overachiever"

Mike I second Angel - watch out for the carpet monster. That resin base will look great.

Kalin, you are taming the wild kit nicely.

Well main build done on the A9 Cruiser Tank. Yes I replaced the incorrect brass plates with holes in the forward suspension assemblies for solid ones of styrene... the voices are quiet now...

Had some issues with the pour points on some parts. Despite cutting well away from the part and trimming with a blade, I still managed to get dimples in the plastic that needed filling. Only on parts o one sprue though.

The front triangular PE parts were a pain to add, as there is very little to connect the point on the hull. These were a Desert configuration component and had to be there.

The same with the mesh around the muffler - really fiddly. You have to line up two holes on the front with pins on the muffler, then line up square holes on the back of the pe to line up with the square peg on the muffler supports and line up the slots just below the square holes with the supports themselves...

Adding a figure to this one - a modified one from Miniart's British Armoured Car Crew kit. Will do some stowage as well.

Now for a clean then priming:

Wow, that was fast, Peter!

Nice, clean build, peppered with a pint of Bronco spices(tricky fit here and there).

Love also the figure you'll add!
My only concern is:
Will the guy find the head, he's obviously looking for?

Hello Angel and campaign contributors,
I have a leftover AT Gun from Bronco kit (35107) US GPW 1/4t 4x4 Utility Vehicle (Mod. 1942) w/37mm Anti-Tank Gun M3A1. Since the GPW has already been built, I was wondering if it would be acceptable to enter the AT Gun (only) in this campaign. If this is a no-go, I will understand. Please let me know your thoughts.

US 37mm Anti-Tank Gun M3A1

Official sprue shot.

Cheers!🍺

Hi Mike,

It is a combo kit, so you have a gun kit and a jeep kit combined.
Welcome to Bronco Campaign, I look forward to your gun build!

Bogi, maybe the fourth, ... no, the fifth, if I'm counting on an Amusing's anti-aircraft gun.
Peter, an impressive start to the figure. A9 tank, well done. I expect some interesting camouflage too.
Have fun.

Thank's, Angel! Hopefully this campaign will get me out of my doldrums of not building anything for quite some time. The AT Gun seems small enough to get me started again, yet still has the typical Bronco parts and PE count to keep things interesting.😅

No rule that you have to build the entire box contents Mike. Welcome aboard. It will be good to do a campaign with you again. Hope it helps get your mojo back.

Angel, the head had the sniffles so it has been quarantined for 14 days...

Kalin, you are you daring me to do the Caunter scheme... I have never done one of those...

I see, Peter...

In times of coughing throats, sniffling heads and bottoms needing a lot of TP, how could I possibly miss the reason we have a headless tankman here....

I join Kalin in asking for a Caunter camo for your A9,

I'd like to join. I'm finishing up a couple of other projects so it may be a slow start. Is it obvious which kit this is?

Hopefully I have posting images correctly....

Here's the Bronco 37mm ATG I'm building. I did purchase an Orange Hobby turned barrel, but alas, it'd be for a Stuart or something similar - it's too short for the ATG.

Welcome here, Phil- I like very much you joining!

Don't worry about slow start- I know from a trustfull source that campaign leader hasn't started his build too

That's a KV-1 hull based vehicle, so your choice must be the KV-85!Excellent!

Super Mike!

Do you plan a standalone gun, or it will be coupled to some vehicle?

You got it - the KV85!

First Bronco kit for me. I've read the instructions a couple of times and am already a little confused about a couple of things. Once I get going I'll post some more pics.

Thanks.

Phil,

It is a truth universally acknowledged, that reading Broncos instructions before starting a build might lead to paramount confusion and sleep deprivation

Keep calm- in every kit I've build sofar there were steps that made me sweat and curse, but they allways ended up being worth it!

So next time you open the instructions, take care to have something sharp in your hand(a cutter,a nipper or a knife)-it always helps

Looking forward to your build,

Waiting for the weekend to start painting my A9, so I started building the Bronco Loyd Carrier for the Israeli GB here- if you think the KV 85 instructions are vague, look at the ones for the carrier...

If there is anything I have learned from building Bronco kits, it is take your time, make sure the part is free of attachment burr - even a whisker of it - study the instructions, look a head a bit to make sure the part you now have in your hand is supposed to go where you think it should, test fit, test fit, check where you think it goes, test fit yet again and then glue very sparingly in case you have to remove it later..... Don't be tempted to jump ahead or you maybe sorry when you go back and realise you can't add a part now. Oh and keep a dry wipe handy for the sweat beads on your forehead to be removed...

Good luck with your build. I'll enjoy watching you squirm... err build...

For the time being, it'll be a stand-alone Angel. I'll leave the option of moveable trails if possible. Though I do have a couple of jeeps that'll need to be built.
