Working on a Giant Trebuchet for the Incoming campaign... Looking for input... There isn't a great deal of reference material for this subject... Believe me, I've Googled! Would like to know what others see... I know what I would like to change... But looking for another eye or well... 1200 eyes... What do you see, or not see etc etc

Unreal. This build will probably be the most diverse ever. Is this a kit or totally scratched?
Im lost for words! Very impressive.
Will be watching this with interest! Nice one.

I'm blushing that you would ask, but this is 100% scratched so far

Looking at the model you can understand the 'terror' effect of these weapons on the defenders of a medieval castle. A 105mm looks kinda insignificant against one of these!!

Hey thats awesome. I know the projectile (rock/dead cow) was laid under the boom in a net type sling. As it fired it was drug across the wood on the base under the boom. So, those beams on the base that are horizontal to the boom would need a plank covering or the projectile would snag and tear the weapon apart. I have a book with some pictures in it, but I have been unable to locate the book.
Great job.
P.S. Are you making this functional? It would be great for slinging beer cans into the waste basket.

Wow - you are flying on this build. It's looking very good.
One thing I noticed was the gaps between the planks in the 'gerble' wheel. In 1/25th scale they seem pretty large. You may want to try and narrow those.

Absolute madness you show here and I love every piece of wood on that thing. Does it work too?? That would be even more interesting. A working scalemodel trebuchet.

Steve, I have the "ammunition tray" (that's what I've been calling it) on the agenda... Hopefully will get to it after the left side "squirrel cage"
Faust, as of right now it does function... Or it would... (Haven't actually thrown anything with it)... But I will be securing it in the end.... I'm afraid that the balsa wood wouldn't stand up very well to the violence of actually firing it...
Slodder, you hit the nail on the head... Something about the squirrel cage has been bothering me... Couldn't quite put my finger on what it was though... That's why I haven't done the left side cage yet... Thanks! Knew I needed another pair of eyes!

That's better, it looks as if the people in the cage could walk it round now without falling into the gaps.

Latest progress... Have started the process of finishing the Giant Trebuchet... Have been hitting a couple of semi expected snags, but think I have a handle on it...

I really am lost for words - not just at the excecution of the model so far but that you actually had the bottle to scratchbuild it in the first place - this has gotta be worth an oak-leaf cluster to the ribbon......... in my opinion anyway. Will be truly a museum piece when finished.

I know this might be a little late but if you are still interested in reference material, you may want to watch the movie Timeline. They have some rather good shots of the Trebuchet.
