I have been tinkering on a ballista even before I decided to join this campaign. Questionn is is it considered as an "artillery" piece? My ballista is based on the Greco-Roman bolt-shooting weapon.

I will be posting some photos of it soon . If it qualifies, then I'll be submitting it for the campaign.

Yari

You mean this?

It was a sort of indirect weapon, I think it would qualify.

Yes, a Ballista does qualify. It was ancient artillery. Someone else is building a Trebuchet as well. Should be interresting. Good luck.

Well its based on that design Savage. I am currently choosing materials to use for the torsion ropes. I think that I have to go for function than form this time and just use rubber bands instead.

I've seen illustrations of the repeating ballista though it is called by another name. One famous battle it was used in was the Roman Civil war (Mark Anthony and Cleopatra vs Claudius[?]). Did I get that right guys? Anyways this repeaters were ship-borne ones and used to shoot flaming bolts.

Will post photos of my ballista in a couple of days, have to do a little editing on the pics.

Howdy fellas,

Many thx for the help, and the ruling kkeefe. I completely agree, the ancient Roman
ballista would indeed qualify for the "Incoming!!" Campaign!
Ya know, I just LOVE when you guys think outside the box.

Can't wait to see it!

Treadmeister.

Hey...why don't you depict it on a section of a Roman warship, with flaming bolt tips!
Yeah, I know....I'm getting greedy on ya.
