I was thinking..... a lot of campaigns end around the end of 2020 or (relatively) early in 2021.
So we need something to kick off in 2021 and I got the idea for a campaign; Work in progress.
It is similar to the usual "Unfinished business", but with a little twist.
I want us to work on and complete a build that has been sitting on the shelves for quite a while. So not just any unfinished build, but one that is old(er).
The goal is to get that particular, dreaded build up and running again and get it finished!
So...

Startdate 2021-02-01
Enddate 2021-09-30
Your entry must have a substantial amount of work still to be done, so not just some chipping and weathering for instance.
Challenge yourself!!

Subject must be armor(related).
Scale between 1/76 and 1/32.
And of course the usual one ribbon per campaign, multiple builds are allowed. One picture with the start, at least 3 during process and 2, when done, in the gallery.

Any takers?

I'm always up for these get'r done campaigns! But actually finishing is the problem... So count me in.

BTW you hinted at "old" shelf queens, but your rules don't say anything like "must have been started more than X years ago" to sort the true queens from the newcomers.

don't restrict it to armor. I've got an old HE-111 I'm stalled on. And a couple of even older ships.

Funny. almost all my campaign ribbons are for shelf queen, hangar queen, getr done..
Not that I don't have scads of ancient shelf queens, even with the Covid build marathon, and I'll play if it goes, but I'm not seeing this as being all that different from the campaigns already mentioned.
What is it that separates this one from the previously existing and ongoing campaigns?

Do you, John?

@ Mike; I want people to pick an old queen, since I figure that these are the more challenging ones. Those that have been put off for years, probably, for whatever reason. They more likely are also the ones more interesting to look at for us and learn from. Maybe a lot of figures to paint in daunting patterns or bad fit or ditto details in the kit.
That's why I mentioned not just slapping on some paint or weathering.
I hope to motivate them to finally tackle and finish those.

Hence the "Under construction-shelf queen" and not the standard "get'r done".

Ah, so that's "under construction" in the same way as "coming soon" - with no sign of activity from year to year! . I've got plenty of those.

My record so far is a build that took 20 years start to finish. But I have a few unfinished ones that would top that if they ever get completed, and a ton of unstarted kits in the stash that remember the dinosaurs before they became crude oil...

I'm working on 4 models at the same time over the last 5 years. 20 years cumulative I suppose. Call me nuts, but yea, I'm in...why not.

Ok, I can play in that park too..

This one could have bought me a beer after I finally finished it.

I've got a couple of ancient Tamiya M113's that sit languishing since other manufacturers have started offering IDF versions and Zeldas w Toga armor in particular.

If this one comes back from the grave, I'm in.

I have a Tamiya Sd.Kfz.250/9 that I started 30 years ago. I paint-stripped and disassembled it 6 years ago or so and it's been looking at me reproachfully ever since.....
