Had this built as stowage for my DUKW. See here.
Wasnt happy with the loading arrangement so i decided to not use it. I was painting my hellcat M18, so I painted this at the same time.
Base painted, darkwash and dry brushed to raise the detail.
Some detail painting next and then weathering. As its built in towing mode, it will sit on the shelf ´till I have something built for it ... someday eh?
All comments and critic are welcome. Don´t hold back!

Way cool PB!! I love that kit!

Only thing that I can suggest is some silver (Bare steel) on the recoil slides (for lack of the official description) and maybe a little in the breech too.

I'm not sure but, the flipped up shields should/could be lowered for towing. Probably not always the case. (Safety measure so following vehicles can (might be able to) see the truck's tail lights.)

A beauty of a kit and you've done an excellent job with yours!

One suggestion: because you have this gun in travel mode, you should have the breech block closed.

Also, we were still using these 105s up in Alaska when I was stationed there in the late 80s. None of them had any paint on the breech or breech block. It often is painted on preserved guns -- but not guns in service. Something to think about.

Frank:

Nice little build here. This is a sharp little kit, that dry brushes nicely. With the painting/weathering skills you have this one will look great. I built this one a bit back but it doesn't look anywhere near as solid as this one. Keep us posted.

Finished an M7 a few weeks ago that has most of the 105mm parts. I think it's a sharp looking arty piece.

I agree with kkeefe on the recoil slide. Depending on the use of it you may want to add some 'wear' on the breack at the opening.

This is one problem, I dont think I can change. I´ll have a go, but if it needs any cutting it will have to stay as is unfortunately. But good call.

This has been pointed out by nearly everybody, and something I had planned to do (honestly). This gun is not finished. But its good to be reminded .... many a time I had planned to do things and then forgot!

I have tried something new to me in the last few models Ive made. I base paint, trying to get a bit of preshading. Then a dark wash and then lightly dry brush the whole thing. Then I detail paint and tie it alltogether with filters and final weathering. It worked great on my bergetiger. Ive just got to the stage now where I can paint the weathering on these parts.

When I posted pics of the DUKW and 105mm in progress, some people told me about this tempory measure until they cut out the sides to allow for the normal fitting. I have the signal DUKW book and it shows quite a few being transported and riding high, so not all were modified to fit. Thats why I dropped the 105mm as stowage for the duck. Something else will tow in the future.

Thanks to each and every one of you guys for taking the time out to offer an opinion or help. Its all needed! Cheers!

OK you have one too many rivets on this gun!!! #:-) LOL..The paint looks good so far. Don't need to mention the suggestions about the rails. the hitch rail could use a Little silvering also. They did bounce around in the trailer hitches. I like this kit very much; I have built a few of them and yours is a good example the gun. Thanks for sharing the photos with us.

This 105mm Howitzer looks fantastic. Older kit but you have done a real nice job on it. Are you entering this in the Incoming Build ? Paint, wash, and drybrushing look really great. I may suggest a little weathering with Pastels ot maybe in even the excellent MMP Weathering Powders. Other then that, you have a nice kit to be proud of

Cheers !
