Looking for..
The Prime Portal is an ex DDR and not quite what I was looking for.
Hoping to make a early Afghanistan (pre-up armored) version out of the Trumpeter Early BTR 70 kit and Trumpter's paint codes for the interior are... poor...
On a related note, anyone got the WWP book?
Does it feature a Russian version?
Are there enough decent interior photos to justify the purchase?
Thanks,

A walkaround with a lot of interior shots here
www.net-maquettes.com/pictures/btr-70/
Doesn't look to be the same vehicle as on Prime Portal
Also, paint codes poor? more like non-existent....

Those are great!!
They sure answered a lot of questions and showcased a lot of missing fittings, wiring and handles.. but even with all the hatches opened up, lots will still not be seen.
Question still remails, how far down the rabbit hole I'm going to go.
Thank you very much,
Mike

Hi Mike ,
WWP book will be very useful if you're looking at spiffing up the interior, unknown if that particular vehicle is a Russian version or not.

The interior appears to be painted much in the same way as many BRDM-2's. White over green. I have an interior panel from a BRDM-2 that was never exposed to sunlight. After doing some tests I determined its color is a dead balls-on match for Testors Forest Green, FS 34127. The lighting in those excellent photos may not quite reflect that.

Perfect, thanks for that. I'd have never matched those two.
With the interior light in 'reality' the green looks darker/dirtier than Forest Green.
I'm much less 'color pedantic' than I was in the past. I've taken to starting with lighter base colors and weathering from there.
Given the closed nature of the kit, it'll still look 'dark green' through the hatches. Even if I leave all the hatches wide open, there is still not that much visible.
That thing has got to be hell to get in and out of with any amount of gear and at any speed.
Thanks again,
Mike
