Hi Jason
Don't worry - there's still plenty of time to join in. The official kickoff is Sept 1st, but you can start whenever you like.
Looking forward to seeing whatever you enter - they sound great projects.
All the best

Hey Merlin, a question similar to almonkey's, could I build a two-seater Me 262 night fighter or Arado 240?
Just askin'!

Hi Phil and Ollie
Yep... I reckon the Ar 234C, Ar 240 & Me 262B should all count... basically anything that didn't get further than a test batch is ok.
With this in mind, well-known aircraft and armour with experimental armaments or camouflage are fine.
Have fun!

Hi, Rowan! I could've sworn I replied to this thread, but can't find my rambling answer anywhere...
At any rate, I'm in and you know my project. I HOPE you remember my project as you are a quite critical component to getting it as accurate as possible! Thanks for the help!
Oh, BTW- my 2nd boy appears to be poised to make his grand entrance into the world at any time, so if you get no reply to messages in the near future it because I'm doin' the Happy Pappy!

I thought I replied as well but do not see my post listed here. I am building the Attack PzKpfw 38t with resin Schwimmkorper conversion. also added to this mix is the ExtraTech PE for the 38t and an Armo barrel.
As usual, this is a 1/72 scale kit and will represent an amphibious vehicle that may have been developed to participate in the German invasion of England called Operation Sealion. If you are not familiar with a Schwimmkorper, think Duplex Drive Sherman for a light tank.
Here is the link to my journal: Schwimmkorper.

However hard to believe it might be, I'm in my bed right now and I'm going to sleep as soon as I finish this post BTW, it's half past midnight in Poland.

I believe I'll build a "Grant" Tank, as it might have looked if used by the U.S.A.

I'm not sure whether this would qualify for this campaign... I don't know much about WW2 armor, but wasn't Grant just a British version of American M3 Lee tank? Why would Americans use Grant if they had their original Lee tanks?...
In this campaign we will build models of vehicles which EXISTED in prototype or project form IN REALITY, but never entered full production. This is not "what if" campaign. If it was never designed in the real world, then it cannot be entered to this campaign. On the other hand if the tank (like Grant) entered mass production, it also cannot be accepted for Project-X campaign, even in "what if" colors and markings.

Still don't know exactly what to build.
I'm down to two candidates....
Planet 1/72nd Fw TL Entwurf lll...resin
or
Special Hobby 1/72nd Heinkel He P1078A...injection.
If I get the time...lol...I may try and do both.
Cheers
Peter

If it really existed or was at least designed on paper, but never entered full scale production, then sure, it does qualify!

Hi guys !
I knew it wouldn't take long before I'd hop in and take a quick peek. And behold : Armorama's alive and kicking without me, too !
No time for modeling anywhere near this decade if I have to keep working like this, but this might be a nice x-project for anyone who likes to try his hands at scratchbuilding !
In fact, the vehicle IS scratchbuilding, based on a normal bummer. Sadly, I only found this picture with Major Bummer sitting on the hood. I might have one without junior somewhere if anyone should need it.
That was in scorching Backton, California. Shortly after, I saw the Kill Bill movie - aaaaahhh - to discover that Backton was the exact place where the leading lady was burried alive...
Seems like a nice and easy little project to base on a hummer kit. One day, fellas, one day....
This is not even REbuilding : it looks like there's an intact and unchanged hummer sitting underneath. This looks like some sort of improved cardboard add-on. I'm sure there are experts in the house with hands-on experience on Opfor modding.

Hi Jan,
Good to see you here again!
I'm afraid your idea does not qualify for Project-X - those BRDM look-alikes are in active use at NTC and quite a few Humvees were modified this way, so I'm afraid they cannot be considered prototypes.
Pawel

Hi KoSprueOne
You'll have to forgive my ignorance - I'm a propellerhead - is the "Namer" a prototype / test batch vehicle?
I'll let the armour experts make the call on this one.
All the best
Rowan

I just signed up for this campaign, but I should have posted my question first......
I have two IHP 1/700 scale ships kits, the battlecruiser Lexington, and the battleship South Dakota, both are kits based on designs that were canceled by the Washington Naval Treaty of 1922. Since these are designs that would have been built, but never got built (the Lexington and Saratoga hulls were finished as carriers) I assume they qualify for this campaign.
This will be my first kit since I got activated for reserve duty over a year ago.
