Hey Guys-
I finished up my Jumbo for the Pig Pile build... all except for the antenne. I am going to put this beast in a dio - so I am leaving the antenne off until then.
Overall I am pleased with the way this turned out, and I appreciate all the help you guys gave me with your suggestions :-) I would especially like to thank John Grogan for the figure painting pointers - the driver is the best figure I have ever done..... thanks man!!
Later-
Jeff

JR your creativity and skills are becoming very, very good. So good in fact that your models are just awesome.
I did not think that engineers had this much skill LOL :-)

Jeff:
Looks like it rolled into Charles City in the middle of January.
What did you use on the running gear and tracks for ice?
Nice looking figs too (as usual). I might like to see just a tad more junk on the rear deck, but hey that's up to the builder!

Lord Filter
Have to agree with Dave, --- ie one just about starts shivering looking at this build. It's another exceptional Jrnelson creation -- really well done Jeff.
Your fig work has always been very sound, but as you noted in your write up, the face on the driver really stands out. The white wash is subtle, and combined with the stowage, drums and slop on the suspension, really ties everything together.
The drums look good, especially the DSB graffiti markings - nice touch. You do have a creative flair in all the models you do. You make them fun and interesting to look at. Congrats on completing your DSB Pig in a Pile build.
Signed

Excellent work on your M4A3E2 Jumbo, Jeff. All-round great work. I totally agree with Steve (WWH), you have a very creative side to your builds, and it keeps one interested in your kit. Keep up the good work !!
What are you using for the snow and ice ? Is that Hudson & Allen or that new stuff that MMP has, Snow Coat ? Looks very good what ever it is
Cheers !!

Awesome! 1 thing I noticed however, is the symbols on the front bottom are really clean and decal-ly compared to the rest of the vehicle

Thanks guys... sorry about the late reply. I have been "in transition" lately and unable to have internet access as much as I used to.
I truly appreciate all the comments, and am gratefull for all the feedback you fellas give me.
Roo - lol Us engineers do have a creative side on occasion... hehehe
Porkchop - the snow is Woodland Scenics "snow" mixed with gloss acrylic artists medium, applied with my finger. That medium is really neat stuff, this is the first time I have ever used it for anything and I am pleasently surprised.
Andy - I'll get that airbrush out to you as soon as I can get all unpacked from my move. I am kinda in limbo still..... I am living with my sister and her husband until I can find my own place - meanwhile my stuff is in Charles City at my parent's house... sorry about the hold-up, but I really don't have a choice :-) I wish I had all my model stuff with me as well... :-)
Zod - Iowa is great.. man it is great to get back home! The east coast is a nice place to visit, but I didn't really like living there... lol Tooo many people.... :-)
Thanks again for the feedback guys, I appreciate it!

Great jumbo Jeff. The barrels and figures add so much to this. It really brings this old monster to life. As already suggested, some more stowage would be great. Another thing, because of the added slush/snow would be a small base to show the weather conditions. The snow looks excellent, but as a model has this much weathering, I believe a base is needed. maybe you have plans to add this later for a dio or something??

the temporary white paint is wel done! I like it, but I think you can remove more white on the front of the tank...it will look like more worn out
cheers
