I have the base camo on, getting ready to add the rest of the accessories and start decaling and then weathering..

Looks good. Maybe you should add the spare lins after the camo next time though.
There are your pics in thread. If you want I can PM on how to do it from MSN's pic hosting page. STUG

Thanks Stug.. I'd apprecite if you can tell me how to do it..
Actually, the tracks weren't painted with the tank, I added them and then painted spotches of red-brown and olive green with the idea that this tank was repainted in the field and the spare tracks were somewhat camoed along the way to help conceal it..

his is for everyone that uses MSN for photo hosting on the internet. Yahoo and webshots doesn't support this. so it best to use the free stroage at Armorama's MSN Groups Page.
1. open the image you wish to post in the forum thread.
2. right click in the image like you would if wanted to copy the pic to your hard drive.
3. select properties.
4. find the URL address line in the properties box.
5. click in the adress and drag down to make sure you get the entire address (its quite long.... http://groups.msn.com/_Secure/0TQDhAj0XYpa!93GRRZJDRX2eQXoL41srwQz*PFlQvtEM!eVGZAW2n7AdvBlRzp1OJXRMkLwWRNJlYFS6ZynoOacXa6QfehGx3W10cKcSl7GXVW60WCw3yA/harryspics%20059.jpg?dc=4675473214441147781the address for one the pics here)
6. once it's highlighted right click and click on copy.
7. back in the forum post text box click area marked [img] and preformatted box will appear.
like so [ i m g] http : // put. url. here / image . file[ /i m g]
8. highlight the HTTP://PUT.URL.HERE/IMAGE.FILE and click paste. The Address you just copied from the MSN page should go in there and be rather long.
9. finish typing you post and hit the submit button and check to see if the image comes up. If it doesn't most likely you copied the wrong address for the image, or you didn't copy the whoile thing.HTH STUG

Nice soft edge camo.

Scott,
King Tigers had all steel road wheels. I am getting ready to spray the cammo on my Tammy King Tiger and your is inspirational. I have a question, though: Would the tow cables, barrel cleaning rods, shovel, etc. being camouflaged? Or were they added after the cammo was applied?

Shuan they were added after the Camo pattern was sprayed. I think Harry will go ahead and later paint the tow cables and such the proper colours. This Tank is definatly an inspiration to do at least a variant of the king tiger. STUG

Actually it depended on the unit and the timeframe. There are some fairly well known pics of a Tiger II of sPzAbt 503 being painted by maintenance personel and the only things that were removed were the sideskirts. You can plainly see where the cleaning rods, towcables, etc. have the camo pattern painted on them. In late '44 and into '45 when the ambush pattern was being applied the camo was painted on the tanks in the factory before all that stuff was added. Nice work so far on your Tiger II Harry!
Cheers,
Mike

Thanks for the comments guys..
Kelly, you are right on the tools... I will probably weather them to an extent, but leave them the camo color as if they are painted in the field..
I have "Tigers at the Front".. It is an excellent Tiger reference book and in the back of this book it shows a Henschel TigerII being painted in the field.. The cleaning rods, tow cables and some of the tools are actually painted the same color as everything else.. That's where I got the idea...
