Hello friends:
I am back again!. This time, I will start the build of the Panzer IV Ausf H (Academy 1/35). I will decide the version before of paint because at this moment I don't know.
Here are the first problem of the kit; the upper rear are very short for adjusting the second part, in order to correct, both parts were filled with putty. Finally for reinforce the parts, I posted glue on the surface
The body and chassis are ready (wheels too). here you can see additional putty on the rear.
Here, I applied putty in the gun barrel for delete the lines
Regard,
Rodolfo

Here another pics of my work in progress. Really without any novelty, the kit have some faults as: hatches, rear hull, rear chassis, lateral pipes, muzzle of the gun barrel, skirts of the turret missing, etc., this is a War, haa, haa, I know, this is a very old kit. Now I am working with the lateral shürzen

Looking good considering the extra work you have to do.
is it just me or are those return rollers Huge?
Marc
Edit What the hell are those two tanks on the right side hull? I have never worked with an Academy Kit before. Do they have any explanation what parts are what?

Hello friends:
Thanks for your kind comments. Yes, the kit is cheap (fortunately), but is a great training for the future problems. The two side tanks are the auxiliary mufflers and the return rollers are corrects. Ok, here another pics. I added some shots on the armor and turret.

I guess seeing the return rollers with no wheels or treads makes them look bigger. I just checked out my mobelwagon and they seem like the same size.

Hi Petro:
Yes, both have the same size.
Here some pics of how mask easy and quick the road wheels and applied with airbrush. I used Plasticine white)
Finally I finished the paint. Next steps: I will detail all tank, marks, weathering and tracks

Rodolfo

That apears to be a copy of the ancient Tamiya ausf H.I still have that under construction. The small aux muffler on the rear plate looks a bit crooked.and those 2 round things on the right side are air cleaners.Used in desert/dusty areas.
Where your tow cable ends are,you could put a small piece of round stretched sprue,at right angles to the post the end of the cable is on,to act as the hook which keeps the cable ends in place
nice work on the roadwheels, some day I may try painting mine that way.

hello friends:
Thanks for your kind comments. Regarding the muffler I will add some shots, you know, impact = crooked. I have always worked my models with details as photoetched & scratch, but this time I did not do it because I am disillusioned with this kit, for this reason, the construction is simple. In my next project I will work with add-ons. Thanks again!

Rodolfo

This is a very well done job ,
if you will use your model for a Normandy dio do not forget to over camouflage it with branches the German hated the tank buster rocket and did a lot of camouflage on there tanks look at some war footage of that time you might notice that the commanders are most of the time looking at the sky
