Hey Guys
Here's an update on my Vc Firefly. It is pretty much ready for paint. I still have to add the spare tracks (Armour) to the hull sides but I am unsure yet if I want to add them before the paint or after. As always your comments are more than welcome. TIA
cheers,
Bryan

Very nice and clean build Ex-Royal.

Now, I'm not too knowledgeable with British nor Canadian Shermans but, I was wondering with all the nice details on her, how about the headlight plugs and chain, and the electrical wire for the horn?

Did you use Aber or Eduard or someone else?

the build looks so clean and perfect. You really got the PE cracked!
What stands out for me is the excellent tarp covered stowage. Love the folds and the strapping. What have you used for these?
Im guessing that with all the resin pieces used you are another convert to the formations aftermarket products. the attachment clasps and fixings on the tools look great ... must save a lot of time instead of cleaning off the kit parts and bending PE.

thanks for the kind words guys
Kencelot, The Light plugs and chains are there but the pics dont show them very well.
Plasticbattle, the Tarp is Tamiya two part putty rolled out paper then then cut to size and draped over the boxes etc. The rope is dental floss split into 3 parts for a better scale appearance. Your right as well about me being a Formations convert..No if's ands or but's about it.

Bryan

That's looking real nice.

Unless you have a particular Firefly in mind, I'd leave the spare track armor off the sides and work on getting a nice finish and markings on that nice, smooth hull. It'll contrast nice with the cast areas.

What did you use for casting texture?

Thanks for the comments Hollowpoint. I have been second guessing my vehicle choice as well and I am looking for a suitable Canadian Vehicle in France '44. So if anyone has a suggestion im all ears.
Cheers,
Bryan

Wow, very impressive Firefly Sherman, even without the paint on it ! Your added details, PE, and resin updates will make it look fantastic once painted up. Can't wait to see more pics !!

Keep up the great work

Cheers !!

Hi Bryan... Very nice build you have going can't wait to see it painted ...I've got mine on deck almost ready to go too but got to finish my M4A1 and M4A2 (both Formations kits) I'm going to finish mine as a tank from the 1st Hussars. I'm not sure if they had fireflies without the pistol port but I'm going to use the formations turret anyways. I got my decals from Ultra Cast.

thanks Rick and Tazz. I appreciate all the encouragement on this one. Surprisingly I havent put alot of man hours into it I have just spread the work out over a month. Less stress this way and I dont make as many mistakes. The Formations bits really do help alot. They are Top notch. Rick I have the Formations M4A2 in the wings waiting for me to do a Sherman III with it I hope to see yours soon as well.
cheers,
Bryan

I like this one too. I've been fancying doing my own Vc - so I'm particularly interested in your choice of colors.

Looks really nice so far!
