Here is my first kit in 20+ years. I picked a relatively easy one from my stash to get back into the swing of things. It is straight out of the box (later offerings will have AM parts. It will be placed on a diorama of a crew in an evening laager with cam net, basha and campfire.
All comments greatly appreciated along with tips. (especially weathering)

Here's a full size one
Nicely done, I like the weathering. Not sure about he MG mount, I would have either removed it all together or left it all on and left the MG off.
Only really nit pick part is the steering wheel looks a bit tipped.
The bed looks a bit clean, I'd add some more dusting/dirt in there.
Another thing - those guys had to really load them up for missions. If this is going in a dio that is 'in the field' I would look to add TONS of gear.
Time Life has a good chapter in one of thier WWII series books that has a lot of images of LRDG. Check out the library.

Peacekeeper,
It looks good, but I agree with slodder. It just looks too clean and bare. Pile it up with all kinds of items and put some bare metal showing (remember it was like driving through a sandblaster at times, and it really striped the paint of those vehicles.) But, more importantly - Welcome back to modelling. I was out for years and now I'm back with a vengeance. It's a good feeling, ain't it?
Ciao for now
Rob

The stores for the back are coming from squadron along with a couple of verlinden figures. the mg mount will eventually be home to a vickers water cooled .303, and the cam net, tarps etc are under construction out of paper and lead foil.
Weathering was 1 wash with thinned humbrol paint and LOTS of pastel dust in various shades liberally brushed all over

Nice & clean build. Maybe a bit more of weathering will look more realistic.
Well done and congrats for returning to the hobby.

yeah it does look clean but you aren't finished with it yet, i just have one question, what is that thing on the fender? looks like a mounting bracket or something, is there an object supposed to be on there?

That''s the bracket for the "under construction" canvas panels for getting out of the sand. they're rolled up canvas about 50' long in real life
