Gentleman and Ladies of Armorama, I come to you as Summer begins and Iam wondering if we have enough interest in making last years Wings Over Water Campaign an annual thing. There will be some changes though to the rules this time around. The biggest would be the inclusion of ALL NAVAL AIRCRAFT. That's right guys this means those outthere inclined to build a Hellcat or Corsair from WWII you can. This would also include any plane that operated from a ship or shore station in name of Maratime patrol and also the experimental stuff. Like Eugene Ely's Curtis (First carrier landing and take off) to the Luftwaffe's Sealander. Also of note as of last week the Boeing 737 has been introduced to Naval Aviation and can be built in its new Patol colours as the replacement for the aging and still wonderful P3. Helos will also be included in this campaign if it gets enough interest and approved. Well I hope y'all give this some thought and for those from last year I hope y'all will come back again to relive the fun of Naval Aviation. STUG

Iwas thinking the same time as the last campaign. Sept thgough Feb(last on was extended through the holidays becuase we all wanted extra time with families, Consider it a lesson learned.) But really the time frame is up for discussion. I'm actually hoping for a bigger turn out on of the big complaints with the last one was we didn't allow all naval aircraft to be included. (another lesson learned) For those who did finish I'll be emailing some of the graphic types and get something done about the award. Our wings arn't able to be added and awarded. SORRY for that. STUG

I'd like in -- I have the Airfix Sunderland & 3 great White Ensign P/E sets for it that I need an excuse to move forward in the queue.

I don't particulary care about the start (Sep is OK), but do like long builds as I'm slow ....

I think we need to finish the last one by wrap it up with the awarding of the wings, then move on to new ones.

Hi Steve

I'd be on for another Naval build. I don't much time for modelling these days, so as long a deadline as possible would suit me!

It would be an extra incentive to do the Dauntless I've promised for my hopelessly late wolf-pile contribution...

All the best

This sounds great! Hey, would a PV-1 or 2 be okay? The Marines/Navy used it over water as anti-shipping and anti-submarine. The stuff I could tell you about it! (The two engines were more powerful than the B-17's!) Oh, and here's a picture of it if nobody knows what it is. I want to turn it into a "2". Thanks for your time.

Yes the Ventura would be ok. As would all patrol aircraft. The list would be very long just from what was rushed in to patrol and anti shipping role during WWII by the English alone. Several RAF Squadrons participated in Maritime adventures, and I wouldn't them left out. I'm also not leaving out anything that tested for the US Navy as possible Carrier aircraft. The F-23 did carrier trials ,but not the winning F22. Another odd call was the F-111A, (BTW started life as NAVY contract) it did carrier trial was found unsuitable to the carrier environment. So the playing feild is open. You just need to ask or search the web to find it. STUG
