I recently got a new digital camera and took this picture of a Lynx C & R at the Canadian Froces College yesterday.

Nice pic Paul,we have one at the Museum here in Petawawa and I think the RCD's have one in their unit lines next to a Ferret.
The "Sportscar" version of the M113 was always fun to drive.
Have a good one

Hi Frank
It is a Lynx command and reconnaissance vehicle. they were retired from the Canadian Army in the early 1990s when the Coyote came into service. Its an M113 variant made by FMC. I think only the dutch and Canada used it. Hobby Fan makes a 1:35 scale model of it.

Hi guys,
I went to the 12th canadian armoured regiment(known as the Tree-Rivers Regiment) museum today and took around 150 pictures (love digital camera )some are from pieces from the museum and others are walkaround type of vehicles on display: a Lynx, M38CDN jeep and the Sherman "Cathy".
Here is some example of the pics:

In the last picture, if your model sherman ended up with a track sag like that, youŽd be so dissapointed with your tracks! Everybody would be pointing out that, that couldnŽt happen!

Interesting Sherman -17 pounder barrel on an otherwise normal M4A4 I believe. Certainly not a Firefly - hull mg is still there and mantlet looks like 75mm one.
Good photos nonetheless, Luc!

I really like your pics of the Canadian M38 Jeep - got any more? They'd sure help me get over the top of my M38 Willys MC conversion project...

I was reading in some book today at the book store today that yes the Canadians and the Dutch were the only ones that used the Lynx, and although the Canadians have since retired our Lynx for the Coyote, the Dutch still have their Lynx in service, and have since upgraded them with more armor and have replaced the .50cal turret, with a Oerlikin 25mm gun!!!!
Now I am thinking thats a big gun for such a small chasis....I mean thats like dropping a Viper engine into my '97 Hyundai Accent!!!! LOL
Definatly quite the recon vehicle.....with the ability to reach out and touch someone with the 25mm!!!

Hi Scott,
Our Lynx still had a lot of life in them when they were repalced by the Coyote. There was not enough room in them for the sensor suite, mast and so on that is found in the Coyote. Too bad we could not have kept them in reserve. The sad part is that when they were retired, there were more of them in Europe than in Canada. It is quite impossible to find one on the market. Always wanted one. guess I'll have to settle for 1:35.
