Following the post on 'Kelly's Heroes' by KBM, it just got me thinking..
There is much striving for accuracy amongst the modellers on this site, how about a campaign to go in the other direction - Hollywood's Interpretation?
Think of it, the M47s in 'Patton Lust For Glory , the T34s in 'Tobruk' , and probably dozens of other examples...
Who, for example will be the first to convert a T34 into a Tiger 1 - Now that is reverse-engineering....
Just an idea, I'd love to hear your other ideas....Jim

Yeah, some one needs to step up and scratch that weird turreted WW1 tank from "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade."

When I got back into modeling a couple of years ago, after a 30 year absence, I was going to concentrate on making models from movies. I haven't made one yet. Besides Oddballs Sherman I was planning on Lulubell from Sahara, ok I made the tank but not as Lulubell, a crashed B17 from Twelve O'clock High, the pink sub from Operation Petticoat. I was also thinking of a M60 crushing an M24 from Battle of the Bulge, or maybe Patton directing a bunch of Walker Bulldogs and maybe a Priest from Patton.
I 2nd it though, no more campaigns for this year. I can't even finish the ones I'm in.

Hi Jim
If we extend the boundaries beyond Hollywood, I remember seeing some German colour pics of Heinkel He 112s dressed up in Russian stars for a propaganda film - and I've got a Classic Airframes kit sat on the shelf.
I agree with the others - this could be a great campaign, but I just can't commit to any more this year.
All the best

I would be deeply disappointed if no one chose to model Belushi's P-40 or Akroyd's tank from "1941".

Didn't some model company actually market a P-40 kit as Belushi's plane from "1941"?
If so, it would probably be a collector's item now.
I have DML's "Cross of Iron" figure set -- I always thought it would be cool to match it up with a T34/85 in the factory battle. I'll have to pop in the DVD and see if I can match the figures to the scene.

Ola people
great idea but not for this year. Besides modeling I have a lot of other unimportant things to do.
Anohter thing wich I always thought was kind of funny was this little vehicle you see in The Dirty Dozen When they drive away from the castle then this little vehicle comes down the road and it looks like a Daimler Dingo with a Huge shield on it. Unmistakenly the thing was german as there was this Huge BalkanKreuz on the shield itself. I never found out what exactly the vehicle was though

Revell did Belushi P-40. I believe they did it in both 1/32 and 1/48? Just reboxes of their older P-40s with new markings and movie tie in boxing.

Yes a movie diorama will certainly require more time than my weekend assembly line of churning out Shermans
