I just finished the new Dragon 1/72 Challenger 2 in a whole 3 day build. The kit went together very easily, but Dragon made it more of a toy than anything else, with parts that are way too thick, and annoying rubber tracks that are about 12mm too short to wrap all the way round. But those tracks are under the big sideskirts so no big deal. Painted with MM Acryl Brit Gulf Stone, with preshade, dry-brush and umber wash. Comments welcome!

The paint/weathering on this one really makes it stand out. The detail really pops your Chally. The rear deck pic is especially impressive.
I know you briefly described what you used to finish your work here, but could you expand a bit and explain what you used for a base coat, and the steps used to finish this vehicle? I love the look and would appreciate hearing some specifics so I can give it a try. Thanks and congrats on a good looking model.

I have been putting off building a Challenger 2 in 1/35 becasue it looked so complex. But your 1/72 scale has inspired me to give it a try.
I wonder how many PE sets there are to add or resin sets there are around for the 1/35 scale Challenger 2. I might do a dio with a land rover or something with british troops.
Thank You for the model pic.
I hope my Challenger 2 comes out as great as yours i will refer to it often to get inspiration for my model because lately it's been hard to get going and finish stuff.
Happy Modeling

A real nice looking build. The attention to detail and the painting/finishing make this more astoniseing to me that it is in fact 1/72 scale
