Just wondering if someone has some pictures of the M151A2 MUTT in canadian service ??
I want to build one with the Tamiya kit but i don't have any photos. What are the difference between the US and the CDN one ??
Thanks

I am looking for a good picture(s) of the GPMG mount that Recce jeeps had (all our 69 pattern aka M38s had them).
Anyone happen to have shots of that ? also any interior shots would be helpful I am going to convert a M38a1 to my ride from the mid 80s.
Thanks
Rob

Do you want some Bright Red Clay to weather that 17th Recce truck?

I thought it was illegal to export that stuff. Afraid The Island might disappear!

We have a rule in which those that have gone away to gain fame and fortune get a few pounds to smell and rub between the toes, which gets them missing the island and eventually they will come home to retire and keep all of us broke islanders employed.

Not to mention that tourists can buy cans of PEI red mud to take home with them, or at least they used to be able to.
Hey Mark, not that many people from the Atlantic provinces on here, which makes us practically neighbors (I am in Fredericton).
Are you heading down to the Maritime Modelers Meet in Halifax in Oct??
Should be a good time. Oct 1 and 2 I believe.
Now that they moved it to the early fall, and out of the nasty spring weather, they should get alot more people showing up at the meet, I know of at least 8 or so people from around here that haven't gone to the last couple of shows because of weather.

Hey Scott,
I am indeed going to the show, I missed it the last two years, but I am definately going to this one. As for not too many maritimers here I think I am the only one in PEI listed right now. I am really looking forward to the show as the one I went to was awesome, nothing better than models and lots o !!!!!! Have a good one and I hope to see you at the show.
Mark

Hey there Mark,
Yeah I really enjoy the show in Halifax.....last couple of years weren't too bad, just crappy weather. The move to early Oct, should rectify that.
Other than that show, about the only one in the region is the one we have here in Freddy in the spring. Hopefully with the injection of new blood into the club and a change in the show this past May will increase our numbers for next year.
Well at least you have a decent hobby shop over there in PEI(albiet a little over priced for my liking) at Great Hobbies, although the last time I was there had Leisure World had a decent selection.
Here we have one shop....the owner has no intrest in bringing in what people want, and won't special order no matter how much money is flashed in front of his face.
Anyway....will hopefully see you at the show in Oct, should be a blast.
OK....sorry for hijacking this thread....back to the subject at hand.....
How much work would there be in turning a M151 US Mutt, into a Canadian Mutt??? I have noticed the Canadian ones have a roll cage installed in them, which would be interesting to scratch, albiet an easy mod.
Is there anything else the was really different about them???? They look about the same...radios would be different, as well as the GPMG installed to it.
What about the Canadian TOW Mutt??? Same as the US version???

PEIR mutts didnt have the roll cage installed in 1984. Just in case your wondering.
As far as the mud goes I miss it. All this gray dirt drives me nuts lol. And water... these puddles they call Lakes.. hmm well lets just say I miss the beaches.
I have lived in Saint John NB , back to PEI, then Massachusetts for 10 years and now Kansas since I got into the work force in 1986. I keep wishing I could get back to the Maritimes especially home but DBA jobs are hard to come by in Charlottetown. I REALLY miss being 20 minutes from the Spare Time Shop in Mass, that is without a doubt one of the best hobby shops I have ever been in. If you visit the State and are a modeler find the time to go there you won't be disappointed.
Now back to the pictures, anyone got a decent photo of the gun mount? I can post a couple of nice shots of the jeeps themselves but they are the wrong side for the gun mount.
