just got back into doing models... I'll put some more pics up.. I have added a whitewash since then, but I did ruin my base/snow
I was doing final touches on it, and flipped the base over and the plaster/snow/groundwork just fell off. I redid it, but somehow its just not the same.. I guess I need some practice in that area.

Looks great so far Looks like you did a super job on getting the Tamiya decal film to blend in One thing,if you can,try to tone down the bare metal parts a bit To me they look a bit too new
The rust on the muffler looks great as well What technique for rust did you use?

sk01,
You might try drilling a much of holes in the top side of your base before you put your plaster on. The plaster will go down it the holes and help to strengthen the connection between the base and the plaster.
Shaun
Oh, great model, btw.

Yeah.. i'll put up some better pictures once I finally get off work.. ugh, 8-5 rat race...
The muffler was a small coat of model master rust (which i really think model master paints suck, so I won't be using that again..) and alot of coats of burnt umber and a light wash of black and i think another drybrush of burnt umber.
I finally figured I would add some viscosity to my display board and I added some deep scratches and such with an xacto before trying to re-do the snow, but It didn't turn out as good as the first time around.. *cry*

That is a very nice lookign marder and I like what you did with the Whitewash. Great Job. A little Nitpick I have though is maybe you could rust up the tracks alittle bit. They look very new. With a rustcoloured wash and a drybrush with silver you already would achieve a more natural look to them.
Another thing I would try to do is blending the whole lowerpart of the vehicle in the groundworks so it really looks like it has been driving through the snow. Snow and mod on teh roadwheels, Snow and mud on the mudguards... Etc. etc.
OVerall very nice tank
