Here is my Tamiya T-55 in progress, the only things that I added are Friul tracks and a Fine Molds barrel. What do you all think so far?
Oh ya I am going to paint it to represent the Polish T-55 with Machine Gun, hope it all goes well. It is an awesome kit to put together as everyone so far has said.

That's a good choice for your T-55 : Tamiya T-55 + Friul tracks + Fine Molds barrel. You can build it as good as the T-55 Tamiya Masterwork Collection !

Thanks for the comments thus far, and Alpen your's doesn't too shabby either . Are you using Friuls as well? I will have more pictures to post tommorrow. It should be assembled by then, only thing left will be painting and weathering, the parts i truly suck at, well at least the weathering part. I am going to try pastel chalk for the first time, maybe I will do Ok.

Are you finishing yours as a Soviet/Russin version or as a Warsaw Pact (Czech/Polish) version?
The reason I ask is that the engine deck as molded in the box is wrong for the non-Russian versions.
The right-most panel, facing the tank from behind, is the wrong shape for an export version. Out of the box it is correct for a Russian one though.
I can't tell from the pics but it looks like you solved the lower edge mantlet to turret problem that I had as well.
The tracks look great. I can't tell from the picture, are they the older pinch type or the newer pinned ones?
How was the barrel to kit part fit?
Nice work.
Mike

Wow, both models are looking great!! I build the same T-55 2 months ago and it was a great kit (still is ). Are you going to add external fuel lines?
My progress build looked like this.
Good luck and I will keep an eye on this topic

Once again thank for the Help guys, I was going to build it to represent the Polish version, how do I rememdy the imperfection? The barrel fit great. The tracks are the new pin type. I would love to run External Fuel hose but I cannot get a good picture so I can figure out where to route them. Once again thanks Mike Alpen And Jurgen.

Howdy Herchealer,
Your T-55 is looking great!...Funny, I just bought another one of these today on my way home. Stopped by Hobby Lobby and picked one up (don't know why......I think the 'Evil' Tread made me do it).
If you need some help regarding the aux. fuel line installation, just stop by http://www.guntruck.com and check out Jim's step-by-step aux. fuel line instructions. And please don't forget to check out his paint work on the ol' T-55 of his....
Tread.
Post Script: Those Fruil's look absolutely 'at-home'!
