Asking this to anyone who knows.....I am assuming that Paul Fredenburg would know (sorry if I spelled your name wrong).
Anyway, I won this off of Ebay for a decent price....had no idea that it even exisited.
How close is this to the Canadian TUA???
If its not exact or semi exact, how much work am I going to have to do to make it into a Candian TUA?? Hard to tell in the pic as its small, but it looks pretty close. Missed the Fitter and M901 conversions though....but this is the one I really wanted.
Thanks

Yes you spelled the name correctly. I bought the same conversion kit about ten years ago with high expectations only to have them dahsed when I compared the kit to an actual vehicle at CFB Petawawa. The turret is not bad if you are satisfied with a closed top model. the launchers themselves are a bit small. However the details provided for the hull roof, stowage boxes, loaders hatch and reinforcing ribs are all wrong. I ended up chucking it out and startting from scratch. Here is a picture of mine before I started painting:
I can send you some drawings if you like.

Hey Paul....
Sure would appreciate any drawings. Pics of a Canadian TUA are hard to come by, other than the Bucket site, there isn't much in the way of pics of it on the net.
I only paid $15 for it...so I am not too worried about it being a waste, sucks that its not that accurate. To the layman I am sure it would look ok...would be a fun build non the less.
That one you are building is going to be a master for an accurate conversion set??? Or so I have heard.
Any news on that? Or how far along that is. I have the Leo conversion, haven't built it yet mind you, looks awesome though.
Thanks for your help.

Scott send me an e-mail with your snail mail address. Luc I have yours already. I am going to be travelling to PEI in a week along the Trans Canada, passing both Drummondville and Gagetown. I can drop them off on the way if you need anything else from my site.

Hello Paul
I also have a copy of the Verlinden conversion set and am similarly lacking any decent reference images or drawings of tthis rather interesting Canuck vehicle. Would it be too much to ask for some copies of the reference materials you have so generously offered to share?
Cheers - Dan

I'll be doing the LAV-3 TUA live fire trial in November. The turret should be 90% the same as the M113 Eureka version (except LAV-3 will have ITAS fitted). I'll take digital pics, and provided the sponsor declassifies them, I'll post them to Armorama.

I have the digital drawings of the LAV III TUA that Stephane posted at the Canadain DG some time ago. I'll be curious to see the upper hull and interior. to see if GD made many changes.
