Hi all!
A couples of years ago I bought for 5 euros at a shop an Italeri M901 Hammerhead. The original idea was to use it as source of spare parts for other project (only the tracks will cost much more than 5 euros). After a while I found come pics of a M106 which was converted to troops carrier (the same interios as an M113) and then used as an ambulance, so I decided to use the Hammerhead as a base for a scratchbuilt conversion. The kit comes with no interiors at all so I started to scratchbuilt these.
Please that some parts needs to be refined...
Any comment, critic, suggestion is as usual more than welcome.
Ciao

WOW you are doing good my friend. Like Dave I look forward to watching this baby come togeather.
now I noticed you used some sort of brass (PE?) plate for the floor. Can you tell us who makes it please

I like, I like Fabio. Very nice. Havent a clue what a 109 or a 106 are but I really enjoy watching these scratch projects from this stage. Looking forward to more installments.
Roo: Most companies that do PE, also make sheets of all different paterns of skid plate. Even sheets of plastic card can be bought with these paterns. Pie-foil can be burnished over the top of the original, so an endless supply can be gotten cheaply.

Hatch detail is just lovely! Both inside and out! Your heater is looking spiff too!
Never heard of this version but you can bet that I'm very much looking forward to seeing this puppy completed!

Thanks everybody for the your kind words that get an even special meaning to me if said by such experienced modelers like you!
For what concerns the PE it's the 35-159 "Modern floor plate" from Eduard that I bought several years ago.
I've cheched the Eduard's site and they've got two sets:
- 35159
- 22063
The price is quite shocking though: 14.99 euros

Hi Fabio
Great work all that scratch building, keep us posted on the assembly. I have never seen this version, do have an exterior and interior picture that you can post that gave you the inspiration to scratch build this.
Cheers
Ralph

Mech,
I've got the pic of the exterior of the vehicle somewhere on the PC but I didn't manage to find it yet. I'll do it as soon as i find it. The vehicle was in service with the Command Squadron of my Regiment when I was in command of Leopard 1A2 Squadron, so I remember it well. For the interiors I've got a copy (quite bad ) of the Ambulance kit for the M113 and it's something that scanned won't come out that well. If you wish I can make a copy of it for you and send it over via conventional mail...

Amazing scratchbuilding skills. Really amazing.
Yeah, I don't even know what a 106 is either. Looks to be based on the M113?
