Hi Guys
Has there been a recovery vehicle campaign of any sort and if not who would be interested in one?

Like posted before, January 1 is perfect for me. I think Peter agreed to allow engineering vehicles so I will be making an AZM Engineering Vehicle and maybe ( a big maybe ) one of the T-55 or T-72 conversions.

Hi guys,
Thanks for your replies. As things stand so far it's like this:
Start Date 01/01/05
End date 05/31/05
Any recovery vehicles allowed plus vehicles used by engineering battalions etc in any scale.
Fictional vehicles are acceptable providing they are based on actual chassis/bodies.
Unfortunately a good proportion of the posts on this thread went awol before I could list those that were interested in participation,if you are one of those whose post has disappeared could you please post again?
Regards
Pete

This could be one for me...if I can hold off building the M32 for that long! :-)

Would there be any possibility to join in the build with these two? I started them over a year ago and they have been in storage since. Even though the main assemblies are together, I could count the two M88s as one build, meaning completing both to qualify! I never was really into modern vehicles and need a push to finish them! Believe me they wont be touched again till the build starts! :-)

This would be nice. Would a Dragon Wagon or M26 fit in this theme?

My original post is missing.
As I have a hectic schedule next year I need to start early (If that’s OK) ±October this year?
I was hoping to build the BTS-2. Firstly ACE’s offering in 1/72 scale and then a 1/35 scale conversion (scratchbuild) using Trumpeter’s T-54B. This will be the one without the crane as I have no reference photos of the Finnish BTS-2 (the one with the crane).

Frank,as you have 2 M88's to finish then I'm quite happy to allow them to count as one entry.

Ralph, The M26 would be ok as would the Dragon wagon if it was being used to recover a battle damaged/broken down vehicle

Does this mean mineplows and dozers too or does it need to have a crane or winch?
Marcel,as far as I know the only items on your list which may not qualify are the M1A1 with mine plow and the M60 with dozer blade, simply because(correct me if I'm wrong here please) they are battle tanks with mine plow/dozer blades fitted and as such would not(?) be used by engineer battalions.
Vehicles such as the Challenger CRARRV and the M88 are fine as is the D6 armoured dozer that Greatbrit is going to do.
I hope this answers your query.

Marcel, Trumpeter’s Panther II would qualify. The others are MBTs used by Armoured / Tank troops and not engineering vehicles per se.
I believe any ARV (Armoured Recovery Vehicle) will do e.g. Centurion ARV / AVRE, Challenger ARRV, M88 (A1, Hercules, Nam etc.) Berge-Anything (Tiger(P), Tiger, Panther, Hetzer etc.) there are too many to list them all.
Remember there are also mine field breaching vehicles, demolition vehicles, Bull dozers etc.
Example:
Sturmtiger German 38cm Assault Mortar
Borgward IV Heavy Demolition Charge Vehicle
Goliath demolition vehicle
etc.........
Have a look at:

Thanks Peter. Theres still enough work to do on both to be finished, to equal a one kit build. I just need to kick in the a%¤r&e to get them finished. Looking forward to the build! Only 21 weeks away.

Hi guys
My apologies for the delay in updating things here,I've found that I need to give things a great deal of thought in order to get things right.
I'm away on holiday next week so hopefully by the time I return I'll have things straight.
Many thanks for your patience.
Pete
Ps After a week without my daily fix of the Big A I'm liable to be a gibbering wreck
