Hey Gents,

I started building Tamiya's OIF M113A2. As you all must know already its the good old Tamiya kit with add-ons for a more modern look.

I started by giving the Bucket its shape and than started laying down the stowage to see how I'd like it to go on....gonna need alot of tie-downs

More to come latter,

Ray

Howdy BattleBuddy,

Well, your 'Bucket' look's great so far....good to see you've 'hit the ground runnin' on this Campaign. It will truly be great to see all of the entries that cruise across the finish line on this one.....

Tread.

Oh, BTW....your road wheels look awfully small.......you must be going for the 'lowrider' look huh?......... :-) :-)

... I thought that the new Tamiya M113A2 came with additional shock-absorbers for the second roadwheels but I don't see them on your model (yet)

Gr,
Marcel

You're right, they are not there yet. Tamiya includes them as separate pieces and has a light engraving on the plastic to help you locate it.

BTW, the new pieces included in the kit; i.e. new trim vane, detachable fuel tanks, gun shields; are quite nicely designed and molded. The rest of the kit is showing its age, and the vinyl tracks are really bad. I am already planning on replacing them with AFV's vinyl tracks for better detail. Yet, Tamiya's M113 is still quite a good kit and a fun build.
