Ciao everyone,
This is my last marine for my "Remember Korea," dio. Comments are welcome. Now, I am going to be able to get to work on the SU-76, that I have been goofing around with now for about a week or so.
Ciao for now
Rob

Ciao Dave and Nathan,
Thanks for the compliments. Actually, I have been working on these guys for a while now. I always do the heads first, then the bodies of each one. Now, I have to finish the SU-76, which I kind of dread. Armor is really my weak point, and I am almost always disappointed with the results, especially compared with some of the work that you guys do. I would love to have half the ability some of ya'll have. I can't remember who said it, but I think the qoute goes, "I am humbled, for I toil below the giants of my age." It's a compliment, anyway.

Ciao shermies,
Thanks for the compliment. Try red brown for your stocks. It is such a vibrant color and I think it really matches the wood used on the weapons (what kind of wood was used, anyway?)

Um... ...he seems to have something in his foot or is it just me? Just kidding. I'd say a little too shiny (but that may just be the sun reflection) otherwise excellent.

looks very nice rob. the shading and highlights are great. the ka-bar sheath looks dead on, i have one right in front of me. the face is real good too, nice work on that 5 o clock shadow. any chance you can get a little closer on the face, or might that take another 140 pics to get a good one? jk, keep up the great work!

wait a sec, is that a ka-bar sheath or a pistol holster? either way, the leather looks great.

Ciao Jeff and Justin,
I appreciate the compliments. Jeff the shine is from the sun (the angle, I guess.) Justin, that is a holster for his .45 sidearm. I guess it doesn't really show well in the photo. I would take closer pictures, but I need to teach myself how to manual focus on the digital camera. I don't know how to, but I will learn (or my kids will learn and teach me!) Again, thanks for the compliments.

Very nice job on your figures ..The only thing I'm wondering about is the camo on the helmets ...In Korea they were still using the WWII pattern Marine camo ..It might be the pictures and I can't really make out the pattern you are using .

Ciao Rick,
Thanks for the nod, and yes, it is the USMC Pattern that was used in WWII. To be honest, my Korea references are slim to nil. I went up on the web, but finding color photos of anything Korea is difficult. In fact, I understand why they call it the "Forgotten War." My goodness, there is nothing about this war. Maybe it is partially our fault, since our hobby seems to neglect Korea just as much as the history channel.
Sorry about that. The soap box appeared out of nowhere.
