This is my first AFV that I built, it's a 1/35 Shanghai Dragon ZSU-23-4M Shilka out of the box. I chose to portray it as an Al-Murabitun militia vehicle in Lebanon, 1979. The base is my first trial too, I tried to make it look like the ZSU is moving across a muddy road, splashing puddles of water as it goes. I built this in about a week. I put the flag in the back only due to the reason that I screwed one decal up :-)

Good job for the first model! I like the way you did the water splashes. The paint seems kind of shiny though.

thanks! I know about the paint, it's just the picture - in real life it looks as matt as it can get :-)

Pretty good build.
Some suggestions.
First, you have some mold parting lines on the radar elevator arms. The lightiong i th 4th picture really picks them up.
Second, the tank is floating on the mud. If you're going to do mud, rout a trough for the treads so it looks like there's a lot of weight on soft, mushy ground.
Third, your ground cover is pulling up from the base. TO help prevent this, drill some holes in the base before applying the ground cover. There will be more bite and it should stay down better.
