Hey Guy's,
Here are a few shots of my Firefly Ic Progress. I'll let the pictures do the talking. I hope to have this construction done within the next week or two. Hope you enjoy.
Cheers,
Bryan

Nice work as always, Bryan.
I'm curious why you replaced the rear end and rear deck with Tamiya parts? That's the DML composite hull, right?

Hi Bob,
Thanks for the kind words The Hull is actually a TWS resin item. Its not bad with a bit of work. The Tamiya M4 Early is the donor kit. HTH
cheers,
Bryan

Wow -- the color of that TWS resin looks just like DML's gray styrene.

Well I see you've been busy ...Looks like it's coming along nicely..... Talk about mix and match ...Looks good ...I guess you used the Formation mantlet on the Vc you just finished ..It's all your fault ..I just ordered one of these hulls from TWS ...well I'll be following your build to see how it's done ...Just a question ..Can I use the DML turret with the low bustle and pistol port on the composit or do I need the turret without the pistol port? Do all composits come with upswept return rollers? Not questioning if yours is right but more if I can make mine with staight return roller and pistol port. Keep up the good work .. I should have some more pictures on Monday or tuesay of my M4A2 to show you all.
Rick
ps You gonna have it finished for AMPS East?

Hi Rick,
From what I can tell most of the Hybrid hull Firefly's seem to have the upswept return rollers. I can't say with 100% accuracy that they all had them but it seems to me that the majority did. As for the turret you can use the early turret with the pistol port as I have seen several pics of them in service with the Cdn Army, so no worries there. Thanks for the kind words as well they are always welcome
cheers,
Bryan

That firefly is coming along nicely What kind of stowage box will you be adding to the rear hull? From what I've heard it is a real small one as opossed to the large one on the Vc Firefly

So you used a Tamiya donor lower hull and rear deck, TWS upper hull, Formations turret, Eduard barrel and TMD wheels. What kind of tracks are you planning?

Hi Alan,
The Tracks will be T 48's with extended end connectors from Afv Club. Not a bad value for a little bit of work. You have to buy a second set of the T48's though if you want to have a complete set of extended end connectors because AFV Club for some unkown reason only give you about half of what you need. but they are not wasted so its all good.
Cheers,
Bryan

As far as I know AFV club dont do T 54 E1's but RHPS does. I used RHPS tracks on my last Firefly and they are quite nice. You can order them here in Canada through the Barrel store. HTH

Very nice work Bryan! I have been contemplating building one of these myself for the last few days so I will enjoy watching your progress. A couple of questions, I have taken a look at the TWS hull, and have also seen that CMD has one. Looking at your pics the TWS hull looks nice, what do you think of it? Also I'm curious, doesn't the Formations turret come with a barrel? If so why did you go with the Eduard offering? Thanks, and keep us posted on your progress.
Cheers,
Mike

HI Mike,
The Tws offering is starting to show its age. the interior of the molding has to be carved away to fit the sponsons on and the rear has to be filed back to fit the Tamiya deck on. But all and all its not to bad and with a bit of work it can really shine IMHO. The Formations turret does come with what is in my opinion the best 17 Pounder barrel and muzzle brake on the market. I had used it on my last Firefly kit so I had no choice but to use the Eduard metal barrel on this one. HTH. Thanks again for the kind words
cheers,
Bryan
