Hello Chaps. Built this at the weekend. Its my second dragon kit ever (not including figures)... cant believe this. I guess I feared the indy track rumors. Well, in my humble, opinion they are the easiest I have built to date, including Friuls. I assembled them in two long lengths and placed on the tank without glue. Nice tight interlocking fit. Then glued them afterwards when in place.
All the reviews state that the tracks are too tight under the fenders, so most models you see of this or Dragons JS2 variants have the fenders cut away. Most reviews recommend adding a plastic strip between lower and upper hull to avoid this. This seemed difficult, so I thinned the fenders and filed down the return rollers a little, and I think it looks OK.
Built OOB except for some milliput welding on the turret. The top and bottom half are joined at the kit weld, which is easily hidden, but the turret front had no such welds and looked poor at this joint. I used plastic sprue along the top, but as this wasnt so easy on the curves, I tried some milliput. I like the result. Id definately try this again but would use a hypodermic needle as Lee Lloyd recommended in his welding article (see here) for better shape.
The JS1 kit is actually the JS2 kit with an extra, small sprue for the JS1 parts included. The JS2 instructions are provided with an extra sheet for JS1 related assembly. I love the cast texture of this kit and should be nice when painted. The box states that there is PE included, and now I know why I got it cheap! Does anybody know, what PE was originally provided with this kit?
Comments and critic are welcome.

Nice looking JS-1 so far. The weld seams you did on the turret came out awesome. Tracks look good, too. That 85mm gun on the JS-1 looks skimpy next to the 122mm of the JS-2 :-)
Cheers !
