Hi...
Further to the all metal Fw TL for PX2004.
After the cock-up and taking off the 27001 Matt Aluminium, the correct 27002 Polished Aluminium base coat was sprayed and it went down quite well.
Metalcote dries pretty fast, but its worth giving 24 hours drying time between each coat to ensure masking will not damage the previous colour.
However it is worth mentioning that anyone wishing to do an all metal scheme should be prepared for the use of huge amounts of masking.
Every little panel to be done in a slightly different shade needs masking off. And of course the extra work involved is much greater than say an ordinary camo scheme.
Also metalcote throws up any and I mean any imperfection, much more than even, an undercoat.
So ground work, prep and filler has to be perfect...not something I’m good at.
So if its NOT going to be a labour of love...stick to green and brown...lol.
In a masochistic way I’m beginning to enjoy doing it...but I’ll wait for the results before singing.
Tears may just be round the corner....
More as progress happens...
Cheers
Peter
