Hey Gents,

Started this project over the weekend. It is the new DML kit. It is quite a gem, KUDOS DML

Here are some progress shots:

Lower Hull Complete. Roadwheels will be left off for ease of painting.

Roadwheels. The hubs on the roadwheels, idlers and sprockets are separate pieces for better detail.

Rubber rimmed idlers. DML instructs to glue part A6 (the idler arm) to the lower hull. Instead, I glued it to the idler so I can regulate the sag on the Fruilmodel tracks I will use.

I am planning in building a whole array of 1/35 T-34/76s, starting with this one. Does anyone one know if DML will release a Mod. 42 and 43?

Thanks for the close ups, usually people just get the overall shots and you don't see all the "raw" details the kit has to offer. This one looks even more detailed than I imagined, it's going right on my wishlist... just before the 20 or so models before it need more money and time to do everything I want.

I too suffer from the "overall photo shot" blues. My canon a30 just doesn't like closeups at all so I have to resort to zooming out further than I ever want.

Looks like a well detailed model.

Hi Reimund,

I build this kit too and it was a real fun the kit is well-detailed. Are you going to add some AM stuff? I build it just OOTB. If you've troubles, please mention them. Probably I had them too (++) If you're interested. This was my result

Thanks for the replies!

I agree with Paul and Matt, I enjoy closeups, specially of the construction. I am using a Kodak DX3700. I got this camera for X-mas last year and haven't used it much for taking pictures of models. The closeups are still coming out grainy, I need some more practice with it.

Your T-34 looks amazing Jurjen, I really like the weathering.

In terms of aftermarket I will be using metal tracks for this one. I am not a big fan of P.E., I just don't seem to make it look right. I'll probably just use the plastic parts.

I haven't had any problems as of yet. However, I did pay very close attention to the fit of the rear part on the lower hull. If you don't fit it just right you end up with an ugly gapping seam with the engine panel once you fit the upper hull.

Latest update.

Since yesterday I have since done some work on the upper hull.

I decided to leave the fuel cell off this one. To do this you have to shave off the alignment tabs from the hull sides and modify the kit plastic straps. Below is a profile showing a T-34 without the fuel cells.

Here you can see the fit of the lower hull with the engine panel. The panel has not been glued yet. The overall fit on this kit is excellent.

Maybe this might help you out? TankCarl and I did the same project more or less together a while back...

Hope you like it, this is one of the flat out best models I have ever built. Period.
