Looking good so far Babva! Is this OOB? Just wondering ... is this what we can expect! How was the build so far? Any other comments? Cheers

Howdy and Good Mornin' ,
Wow, nice to see some more activity on this thread. And about it being "...this tread has started in the "WW2 - Germany" forum ?...", my apologies, I really thought I began it in the proper catagory......oops, thx matt for fixing that wee faux paux
Now, about my M8A1 kit. I have just bought it off of Ebay last week and can only assume that it will take another week or so to get here. I've already PM'd our good Sabot about his kit (also tried to talk him into joinin' us rather than sell me the kit ), so we'll see how that plays out. I am also very pleased to see more members chiming in on the subject matter!
to Jacques: Mighty glad to hear you're thinking about going'feet wet' on this thing. We already know your quality of work is superb, and you've already displayed your adept scratch/bashing skills with your T2K entries. So having you along for the 'anguish' is help indeed.
And as far as your suggested 'Head to Head' competition with Rob........I admire your courage.
to matt: So, by your comments, do I take it you are also considering joining this very laid-back build up?
to Babva: Sweet. Thx for the link, she's 'lookin' good!'
Since you've already dipped pretty deeply into the build up, your input and experience with the pros and cons of the kit would definitely come in handy!
Now, as far as what I've already got going.....I'm trying madly to finish up my Norinco for the "Incoming!!" Campaign, I've also got a couple of Shermies going, plus a kind of 'surprise' entry for the 'Move-it' Campaign (hope Roo's not listening......), not to mention keeping my eye on my T2K Campiagn schedule, I've got a full plate. But since I'm looking at this build as a very slow, methodical pace, I don't see much of a problem with it. So, as soon as my M8A1 shows up in the Postman's arms, I'll start tearin' into it.
With that in mind, I have some questions about the kit that I'd like to get some input on right away.......?
First, how come you feel the kit needs two sets of tracks?? And, you did say that the M41 Bulldog tracks would work?
Also, (to me), the most glaring inaccuracy (and hopefully the easiest to fix) seems to be the thickness of the cargo area wood slats. They look almost double the size they should be. And since I'm planning on building a 'darn good' representation of the vehicle, and not necessarily a 'super-detailed' version, what do most of you feel is the worst parts of the kit??
TIA
Tread.
Oh, and just so everyone can get a gander at Babva's fine work so far.........

Id hope for really laid back as well! I have incoming, swedish steel, stand alone, bucket bonanza, and engineering campaigns underway
But its nice to "tinker" at something as a change of pace!
The first sherman build was great where folks showed their progress and great discussion was generated. We could go along these lines and those that fall behind can always read-up what happened before them!
Time frames would take the fun away. As we all want to dabble in scratch work, end dates would only add pressure.
In saying that, if certain folks want to "start tearin' into it" :-) :-) , feel free!
Good luck guys ....

Howdy fellas,
Thx for the replies guys....hey, that rhymes.
Absolutely no time parameters on this one. Just as our good Plasticbattle described, more like the Sherman build where people just shared the build as an elevating experience for all concerned......that's all.
Sound O.K. to everyone?
Now, to the model.
From the picture just provided by Babva, I have some observations. Aside from the wooden planks being out of scale, the rollbars (?) immediately in front of the driver and passenger windshields also look like they'd scale out at approx. 2.5 inches in diameter.......were they?
Hey Rob.....I don't suppose you have any photos of this wee beastie?
to Babva: Thx for your input. Your comment about the dozer blade mounting brackets being too thick, can they be shaved down? And could you use cheap costume jewelry chain to replace the thread provided?
As to the Ma Duece, I'll use the Skybow replacements.
