G'day guys
well despite alot of worrys i had that i wasnt gonna make the deadline for Incoming, i pulled my finger out and got to work...and its just about done.
its a 1/72 diorama showing the Somme front in france, 1916, during WW1.
its 46 X 34 cm big and originally was gonna hold around 200 figs but its been dramatically reduced to around 60 due to the fact that in 1/72 ( and the way they make the figures) the same poses would have just been showing up everywhere, even though this is still the matter even when at around 60 figures!
but the basic layout is two trenchs seperated by no-mans land in the middle, which is a muddy mess of shell holes, wire entanglements, debris, and bodys..... there is a slight storyline being that during the Somme offensive, the Allies managed to take some of the germans front line trenchs ( didnt make it much further though), so i have it set out the the brits have taken a german front line trench, and are now using it to fight the germans who are in the second line trench, which has an underground shelter, outpost, and light artillery battery (heavy artillery would usually be placed about 1km past the front line, but light guns would often be used right in the thick of the fighting).
well now that ive crapped on about it i am sorry to say i have no pics as of yet! :-)
will take some tommorow mornign when its nice and sunny, before i finish it off!
thats a promise!
im just glad im gonna make it.
cheers guys
