I would change the color on those packs. They appear to be bright green in the photo.

Overall very nice.
I would put a bit of inward bend in the front strap holding the gear on.
The antenna is a bit off kilter to the right.

Looks good Jim, but I do agree, the packs look a little too bright a green to my old eyes.

Jim. M3A1 looks great ! My only comment is, that it looks like the main gun is missing the mantle ??

Other then that, your kit looks fine

Prost !!

Great looking model. Nice weathering
Very green packs. Might just be the picture, but they look very green. Perhaps a filter could tone them down, if repainting is not posible

What the other guys said about the color of the packs and the antenna.

About the stowage...The straps don't look like they're attached to anything and I don't see a buckle. They also don't have any "weight" to them, in that they are bowed outward against the pull of gravity. Placing the box on top of the pack is problematic in that it wouyld make the real thing unbalanced and the weight of the box does not push down on the pack as is should.

It looks like ther's still a seam on the shovel which gets emphasized by the drybrushin (I hate when that happens!)

I do like the weathering, howeverm and the overall build looks pretty good.

Thanks for the constructive comments... The color of the packs - it must be the pics - the colors used were OD and Field Drab -both Vallejo...The box was a kind of afterthought;)

The haversack attached to the turret - yes, point taken! It is hovever attached below a cable which I have strung between the turret lifting hooks - whether this was actually done on U.S. vehicles is a touch of artistic licence on my part.. The photo is perhaps not clear enough on that part...I'll look at it again

Thanks again for the comments - it's a damn site easier correcting things when you have another (20) pairs of eyes...Jim

Looks nice but you did forget the gun shield (mantlet) Or is there a reason behind that? Some dio theme?

Rick

Oh dear, guess who forgot to put the beautifully moulded mantlet (with nice casting detail) on the barrel...I truly am lost for words, thank you all who pointed it out - ERK! ..Jim

Jim,

I think it looks great. The antenna is a bit off kilter, I'd straighten it up some. As for how the gear is arranged with the box on top, etc....as long as you like it and are happy with it, oh well. I like that whole "artistic license" thing!

Looks good. What did you use for the antenna? My kit didn't come with one and I've been looking for something to use. Also, can you give a quick blow by blow of the weathering technique that you used?

Hi and welcome to the site Mauserman

The antenna - I'm not sure it's completely in scale, but it came from a broom. I was looking for something with a natural 'springiness' and thought of this... It is angled, but I felt it would look a bit more realistic...

Weathering. Sorry if this ends up a discourse...

1) Undercoat with Games Workshop 'Chaos Black' in spray - truly worth looking for, lovely flat deep black...

2) First color with Tamiya O.D.

3) light overspray with Vallejo (Air Color) O.D. lightened with a bit of yellow and light stone...

4) Overall general wash with oils - mixture of black lightened with Burn Umber .. Very thin consistency!!!!

5) First highlight mixture of (Vallejo) Green, Yellow and white using a square brush..

6) 'Pin wash' black/burnt umber (oils) round hatches, panels and rivets...

7) Second Highlight on rivet heads etc.... as before if a grade or two lighter...

Hope this answers your question....Welcome again, Jim

Nice

So much detail

i am a noobie and i was wondering how you did some of that stuff

1) how did you get that 5 decal to look dirty
2) how did you make the rivets pop out
3) Around your rivets it looks rusty and durty how did you do that
4) what parts were airbrushed and what parts were brushed

thankz
