Finally the beast of burden is beginning to close up the lose ends.
The FAMO is finally done and weathered, just the steering wheel left (left out to fit the driver). Trailer also done after long nights and many thoughts on how to make it look good in my eyes. I finally decided to make it a very dusty FAMO and trailer. It will be in a diorama called "On a old dusty road from hell" It will eventually carry a broken down german light/medium tank. Im thinking of a early stug or a Pz III. The cargo bed will be filled with field gear like boxes, tarpulins and engine parts. I hope that you like it and that you will spare a moment and comment my work.
There are some parts not fitted yet and they are, steering wheels, rear boggie windshield and steering wheel, some lose stuff like chains and such.
Here are the pics.
I have placed a T-34/85 on the trailer at the moment just to show the immense size of the trailer. It will be replaced with either a early German or early French tank as the marking are from 1942 and the Herman Göring heavy maintainence division
Comments!

Excellent Fredrick. All your efforts have paid off! The famo running gear is perfect. I love how you dirtied it up without hiding any detail. The tyres especially are very convincing. I read elsewhere that you will be adding a driver ... any plans for other figures? What about a base to carry on the weathering ... a nice dusty road with this beauty will be an impressive display!
Great to see you have joined up on Armorama.
All the best .Frank.
PS: I e-mailed you about the hobbymässan!

Fredrick,
Looks great...the weathering is really nice. I particulalry like the trailer, very realistic. How many hours do you think you have invested in this? Can't wait to see it complete with tank!

You done a beautiful job of building, painting, and weathering, the one problem you have is, you seen to many modern trucks. You got DOT tape on the sides of your trailer, that never even came out until the 90's, I can't remember when I was forced to put it on my trailer.
Now I was lucky, cause the company I was leased to give me the tape, cause it gets very exspensive when you go down both sides, and they charge by the foot for that stuff.
They had the stuff sooner, but it never became mandatory until the 90's, in the US. but I don't believe they had it anywhere in the 40's I'm afraid.
At least I never seen it before yours.

I think Straightedge is referring to the red/white striping on the trailer. I dont think that is DOT tape, but was painted on. I'm guessinghere, but to me it would be a referrence for the driver as to when the front and or rear of the trailer were clear of any obstacles while turning. Anybody else have a theory? Just my .02 cents worth. Nice looking build too by the way. "Q"
