Anyone know if the academy kit of the IDF fitter is a good start to reproduce a canadian Fitter ?? I think that the crane is different . Also anyone know where i can get some pictures of the CDN FITTER as they seem to be rare on the net...
Thanks
Luc

Luc,
Its a good match. The kit doesn't provide all the hydraulic hoses. I can give you the details of those if you wish. I also have a few photos from some of the other guys I can forward to you. (You will of course require Diehl track)

If you want to build a Canadian version of the fitter, take a look at this conversion kit from Maple Leaf Models.

Although the MLM ARVL is an oustanding kit, the ARVL and fitter are two different vehicles, both of which are in Canadian Service.

Hi

As Paul said, two different vehicles. There used to be a website devoted to the 113 but after a good start I think it died. I think it was called The Bucket??.

Luc, this is the addy I used: 619 moisan .....

I still kick myself for not taking piccies of our kit the five years I was in Lahr :-(

Hi,
Paul, I accept your help on this one. If you can send me your pics and diagram, i will appreciate..
Just a note here: Yesterday i went back from the hobby-shop with the M113 FITTER + a set of DIEHL track from AFV + a M3 SCOUT CAR. I make a stop at a newspaper store to buy some magazines and when i came back to my car, i realise all my kits were gone !!!
(sh...t !!!) a total of 80$ ...Lessons from this: Be sure that all your door are locked before you left your car....

Tom,
I just don't understand what happen...All my mail should have been redirected to my new adress. Is it something you can send again ?? Was it a CD ?? Maybe i can reimbourse you something for the trouble ?? (sorry for my english here...)

Thanks guys.

Bad luck Luc. You can get teh Fitter relatively cheap off e-bay. Here's an example:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=2588&item=5936163964&rd=1
Even with the shipping it is cheaper than retail.

So is there much that has to be changed on the Israeli Fitter vehicle, to turn it into a Canadian Fitter???

I heard someone mention that its a different crane?? What else would need to be changed. I was always under the impression that the Israeli Fitter wasn't that close to a Canadian Fitter at all, as I was interested in making one myself.

No, the crane isn't different, just a few small detail changes here and there. I'll try to get some photos posted tonight in my gallery, since it seems there are a few of us interested in this vehicle. Hang tough!

OK, just got 25 photos up, click 'my photos' I believe to access them.
ps stupid Argos!

Cheers,
Jim

ps stupid Argos!

I agree about the Argos......most TiCat fans would :-).

The fitter is on my Xmas list and hopefully I'll get it along with a whole bunch of aftermarket stuff for it from Santa. i'll have to look at the pics and see what sort of damage i can do to it.

It sure is! I bought 4 kits from this guy and his service and shipping are first rate. If you buy several kits you save a bit on shipping, making the deal even better.
