in what I would call a Steel Beasts campaign?

Only Heavy Tanks with armor made out of Steel, from WWI to present day, I.e. Mk. Iv Male / Female tanks, JS-III's, All soviet T-variants, M-48's etc....

No Challengers or Abrams.
Maus E-100 is allowed
No IFV's or APC's
No light tanks (i.e. Stuart/ honey, unless the particular country didn't have heavy tanks in the era you wish to model)
Medium tanks are allowed (i.e. Shermans/ cromwells)
All World War One Tanks are Allowed.
Dioramas are ok, but not required.
Built out of the box is allowed
PE and resin add-ons are allowed.
Anti-aircraft cannon conversions are allowed as well (it would be neat to see.)

I would like to also say that I would also not like this to turn into a sherman/ tiger/ panther love fest. Even though I have a Tiger One that I want to use for this, lets keep them to a minimum.

Cheers

I thought about this, because not many people pay attention to the different tanks out there.

Interesed-YES... the only thing is a time frame... I am enrolled in a few other campaigns and would not be able to start on this for a while.

If I started in February, it can coincide with the Seeing Red campaign. I would think having it end in december 16, 2005 would be ok for everyone?

Long built...

Although I am a big Sherman and Tiger fan, I would not be adverse to the idea of not including them this time, to make some of us who are in a rut to built something new

Just a thought,

I'm not saying that tigers/ panthers and shermans shouldn't be allowed. I would like them kept to a minimum.

For ONE entry you are allowed to use the Tiger (including King Tiger), panther or Sherman. If you choose the Sherman, that's it. for any other entry you wouldn't be able to go back and choose the others.

For instance:

I have a tiger 1 kit I am getting for x-mas, and am going to do up as Michael Wittman's tank (205). That would be entry #1

For Entry number two since I choose the Tiger (I cannot build a panther or sherman), I would choose, say an M-60 MBT.

If I did a third entry I cant go back and pick the panther or sherman. I would have to pick from the numerous other heavies out there

Sounds interesting, but doesn't "Medium tanks are allowed " kinda go against the true nature of the build, namely a Heavy tank build?

Also, as John said... 10 months is a looooooooong build...

How about a little more definition about the term "steel?" I just assumed all tanks were built out of some sort of steel. They are not plastic or paper.

sounds like an interesting campaign....not sure whether I have time for it though, already enlisted in 4 campaigns at the moment, of which 1 is already active, 1 has to start next week, and the other two start next year.

Still, sounds like fun....always wanted to build a JS2 (if that's allowed for this campaign off course!)

Any real life tank that has Chobam-like armor on the tank is not allowed.

When I mean a steel beast I'm talking;

t-55, t-62, t-69, t-72
JS2, JS3
M47, M48, M60
Tiger I, Tiger II
Panther
World war One tanks

Tanks whose main armor component is steel
