I purchased the Formations M4A2 conversion for the Academy M10 kit (very impressed with it) and I plan to build this tank as a Canadian tank post D-Day. So I have some questions.
I wanted to do something other than the plain green paint if possible does anyone have any pictures, know of a reference that does or have suggestions for a suitable finish for this vehicle? Also same question on markings for it. I have a bunch of sheets from Ultracast (who gets them from Archer) so I think I have all the basics in the decal binder. I just need help deciding where to go with this.
If I end up having to go with a basic monotone paint were Canadian Shermans painted the British green or American OD?
Thanks in advance and happy holidays.

I'm sorry to say, that green is pretty much your only option for an M4A2. I'm trying to remember if any M4A2s went to Italy, in wich case you might get away with the Light Mud and Black scheme, but I don't think so.

Which theatre are you thihnking of, NW Europe or Italy? Any favourite regiment? If not I can see where the M4A2s were used and give you a few suggestions.
BTW regarding Archer's Canadian decals, the maple leaves are entirely the wrong shape, being the same one as on the modern flag. Choose the Ultracast or Quartermaster's Depot decals as the shapes are right. The other Archer markings are fine, just not the division or corps markings.

All commonwealth Shermans were supplied in American OD. Now, if it was painted for the desert and then repainted for Italy, then you might get the Light Mud scheme, but other than that, US OD is it.
We love our Shermans, but colourful, they ain't. :-)

Thanks ! OK NW Europe sometime after D-Day to September time frame is what I was thinking. I guess I will go with an OD scheme. Any suggestions for the markings? I have no favorite regiment other than my own former Militia unit and it didn't have tanks although it was Armoured (Prince Edward Island Light Horse).
So any suggestions are welcome, something East coast would be neat. RCDs? or 8th Hussars? I am going to have to do some serious research on this.
