Ok, drumroll fellas! This is some of my best work yet and for a 15 year old I think its the begging of the new era of modeling for me. Tell me what you think!

LOL, funny you should bring that up. He is supposed to be feeding ammo to the gunner but I had a funky time cutting the ammo out of the mold. Therefore I will just say that they have run out of ammo and the ammo feeder is throwing his arms up in the air thinking "What the heck do we do now?!"

Harrison, your painting skills are very good, I like the way You have done the camo and the wear on the canteens. There is however one thing I have to point out, the guy on the left, who I assume is the MG assistant/loader. I like his eminem impression :-) :-) :-) Sreiously though, his right arm should be lower, and he should be feeding an ammo belt to the MG.
Other than that it looks really nice, the base has also been weathered well.
You picture skills are also improving. Another photo tip, try a grey or blue background, that makes live easier for the camera to focus and get the exposure right
Cheers
Henk

EMINEM! HAHAHA! that is hilarious! Im am cracking my up so hard, :-) :-) But actually on the box it shows his hand in the same spot but with the belt drooping inbetween the gun and his hand.

Looks very nice, good work.

Really neat little scene Harrison. Good action and the figure painting has improved quite abit. Have you tried pastels yet? Brushing some pastels into your rubble adds a lot to the effect. Some different shades of light grey and brown would be perfect here.
As ammo can be seen in a can in front of this guy, his arm movement really need to be feeding ammo. Some of the Dragon sets have extra belts of ammo you could use for the loader.

Hahah I've got to say the "eminem-pose" of the loader is funny :-) Well, you can explain his pose so that's ok
I really like the vignette you made!! Good job, keep it up!
However I still don't really understand what AGE is actually about...something with sponsoring, but that's where I don't understand the English anymore! (maybe someone could send me a message about it so that we don't "ruin" Harrisons topic..?)

Well the only problem with that explaination is that there is a whole box of ammo on the ground You gonna pull that box off the dio?

Also it would appear the gunner is aiming an empty gun without a small link of bullets in the MG42

Ciao TsunamiBomb,
Magnificent job on the vignette! Too bad that you didn't depict the faces of the guys a bit more.
I personally thought that the gunner had "cut the cheese" and the other guy was waving the stench off. Hey, it could have happened.
Ciao for now
Rob

That is if I stay in it. There was an issue braught up to me today. Saying that it is a viggnette and it would bring up to much issues to being scratch built. I did build it out of the box completely. I was PMed today saying it couldnt be entered because it was a viggnette. Like usual, I was notified a day late and a buck short. I think my entry should stay though, for it is not fair to have someone put all this time and effort into somthing they really wanted and have someone say sorry, but we dont take credit cards...

The Rules and Regs
Your build may be in any Era and any Nationality in one of the following categories : Armor , Softskin's , Air , Sea , Figure , or Sci-Fi.
Rules:
- The first and most important rule is to have fun!
-Models built will be straight out of box
-A base is optional and will not determine final vote
-General membership votes winners
-One submission per person
-At least 1 photo of your build, 3 max.
-photo displayed will also show the age group you entered..ex: "17under Sherman.jpg"...help for this will be provided.
- Last but not least..We are on the honor system here and Armorama is a site with the most honest and up front people I,ve ever had the joy of corresponding with! Thank-you and Good Luck!
Harrison- I see nothing in the rules which would exclude you from competition. Ultimately, the decision will be up to John(PvtParts)Fortier as Campiagn Leader. Since you have included build photos of the kit inprogress, you can prove it is OOB. The rule to remember would be:
A base is optional and will not determine final vote
Thus, your actual entry will be judged on the figures themselves(Ammo belt included) with NO consideration given tothe admittedly fine work you did painting the base.
This being the case, you may petition to have this entry kept in competition & judged under the applicable rules, or you may withdraw it & submit another work.
I would hope that the enjoyment you got from building the kit would be reward enough, but I do understand that the contest element is a big incentive here...
Having said that, you may wish to take into account some of the very helpful & generous suggestions to improve this piece, some of which was given by those who will be judging the submissions, & some who will be competing against you.
What a fantastic opportunity we have, when competitors give eachother tips that may ultimately lead to their own loss. What a site!
Thanks Jim!

Ciao TsunamiBomb,
You have done a wonderful job and you seem (to me) to be well within the rules. RobH is right and I back you both entirely (as I have sworn allegiance to RobH since reporting here.) :-)
If we have to, Dave (Grumpoldman) could give us his opinion on it (provided he can tear himself away from women long enough.)
Ciao for now

Nice work but I do not believe you can combine kits, OOB is OOB FYI. Which I believe that means out of one box and not two or three. If you feel this build, which I like is not going to make the grade with missing part(s). The campaign does not end until the end of March and seeing how you built this in 5 days, you would have more than enough time to build another one or ten, but I believe only one can finally be entered. As it is already said Pvt Part is the leader he would be the one to make the call.

Yeah, actually I managed to put back to together the one that came with the kit. So it is now completely out of the box! It took me a hell of a time to do that though, I had to burn it to get it to fold downwards and give it that floppy look. It looks good I think! Thanks for the comments guys!

Did I hear my name mentioned......... :-) :-) :-) :-)
Being a rather old man, who has judged many times over the past 35 years, and who has mostly won awards in the "out of the box", or "stock figure" class, I'm rather well aquainted with out of the box rules, especially IPMS ones.. They are written that way, for a reason, so that everyone has a simple, fair, and level playing field.
Over the past 35 years I have seen just about everyway to circum-navigate around them. YEP.... I've even tried a few myself.......till I got tired of getting disqualified........No body's invented anything new here.
not FIGURES.
Which FIGURE is to be judged?
the LOADER.........???
or the GUNNER.......... ?????
How are the general membership going to know which one to judge????????
So if we remove the base/vignette from the picture, we have the original question...... Which FIGURE is to be judged???
The Loader?????? or the Gunner??????
I'm sure you are old enough to see the problem Harrison.
With three months left to go, perhaps another entry, would be a good idea, and working closely with a mentor, who knows what masterpiece you may turn out.

I should have noticed this was for AGE2. As good as the work is (and I mean the scene is very good) it does exceed the single Figure rule and it does have more than a just a base.
As for the effort, you obviously put in a lot of effort but if it's ineligible I guess it doesn't matter how hard you worked. Final ruling should come only from the leader so contact him

Ok, well I thought this over and after some words with Pvt.Parts he generally offered to help me find a new entry. May I say that was one of the kindest things someone on the internet has ever done to me. For sure the next time he's on the person of the month, hes got my vote for sure! Thank you very much Pvt. Parts.

Harrison, if you need a mentor, or a replacement entry, I'm sure myself, Pvt Parts, or another A-guard member would be happy to help.
