Hey guys
I was checking out Ace's website and saw they have some Canadian vehicles as being released "soon".
So far it looks like the .........
Grizzly, AVGP
Cougar, AVGP, Fire Support
Husky MRV
Not sure if its already common knowledge but just thought I would share.
Not often you see Canadian stuff produced.

I guess I'll have to get out the stronger magnifying glasses for the braille scale.

Good subjects, too bad I'm not an avid fan of Ace kits. They have lots of subjects I am interested in, but I try to avoid the limited run kits.

According to Dave at Military Hobbies, they should have the Husky in stock in 2-3 weeks.

I haven't built any 1/72 stuff in years but I will be building all of these. Yes it would be nice to see these in 35th.

Just like the old days! More subjects for the braille scalers!

Definitely not the way to start back into 1/72 scale armor. Ace kits have a reputation that shies a lot of Braille scalers away.I haven't built any 1/72 stuff in years but I will be building all of these. Yes it would be nice to see these in 35th.

Howdy fellas,
Aside from the fact that I completely trust Rob's opinion on this matter, I have to restate my rather 'common man's' opinion of the ACE kits....
Upon opening the box of the ( comparatively ) expensive 1/72nd ACE offerings while placed side-by-side with say.....a 1/72nd PST kit recently, I was honestly more impressed with the PST kit. It had less than half the 'flash' of the ACE kit. Had better moulded in detail. And, was less than half the price.......but then that's my Farthing's worth.
Tread.
Oh, and to add a couple of donuts to the dozen.....I liked the UM kits better as well.
EDIT: And as another Post Script, the reason I read this thread and the reason I say what I do about the ACE kits is because I was actually looking recently for a potential 1/72nd scale candidate for the Canuck Steel Campaign...this is why I was opening boxes and comparing so fervently.

The point with these AVGP kits, I believe, is that Canadians have been waiting for an injection kit of our "training" vehicles for ages. We've had these vehicles since 1975 and we're in the process of retiring them now. I know of only one other kit, a pricey resin set (sorry Paul). Personally, regardless of kit quality, I plan to build all three. I wish it was Tamiya or Academy coming out with them, but I'll give Ace a try.
Cheers,
Mike

Hey Mike,
Nothing to apologize for. They are indeed pricey but the only game in town. Noe I don't stock the recovery version as it is a bit too inaccurate for my liking.

I understand the frustration at waiting for a kit of a vehicle you've crewed (still waiting on a CEV). If it were a CEV made by Ace, I'd grab one in a heartbeat as well. Heck I'd even take a resin conversion that was semi accurate and a decent price.
I was just trying to warn potential Braille Scale converts not to get turned off the small stuff if you run up against a tough kit. Some of the newer Braille kits are box shakers.
