Hi all,

I'd like you to meet my King Tiger with a brand new look. My first ambush scheme so far! Please take a look at the pics and leave any comments

Weathering will follow later. More pics, as well as all the pics of the progress on my KT from the start can be found on my website under campaigns

Greetings,
Martin

Good to go Martin! I'm usually not a big fan of German armor but you've got a hit on your hands there.

Martinnnn -

Very excellent build and that "Ambush scheme" really comes across well. I'm working on the Tamiya "Ardennes Front" for my "AGE 2" project and will use the examples in Steve Zaloga's "Battle of the Bulge" book from Concord. Thanks for providing another great example. Hoping mine comes out as well.

Yes.....if.... :-)

We'll see today. It's 09:30 here now, and this day, I'll see if I can complete.....or at least most of the weathering.

edit: (13:00) hmmm the smell of a fresh wash.....you can smell it in our entire house (which doesn't make me populair here haha)

edit: (15:00) FRESH AIR! FRESH AIR! WHERE IS IT? AAAH

edit: (15:50) Very cold in my room now....but I just had to ventilate it because the white spirit smell was unbelievable haha :-)

Pretty good. The first attempt didn't got me the results I wanted to see, so I have used your methode twice :-) It came out nicely the second time. Dots are handpainted.

Thanks again for sharing your technique, it takes some time but it really gives nice results!

Martin

All painted in Tamiya Acrylics. The red base colour is XF-9 hull red, like the factory primer that the Germans used. The sand is Tamiya XF-60 dark-yellow and the green is Tamiya XF 58 olive green.

For the weathering, I use oil paints. Colours for the tracks can be found in this article

Weathering is almost done...just some rust on the exhaust pipes and maybe a little on the rest of the tank!

I'll finish tommorow, will post some pics then too!

Hmm maybe it's an idea to submit this one for a on-display model...if all your reactions are still as positive as now after the weathering :-)

Greetings,
Martin
