Well, pending any objections, my idea is somewhat silly. I plan to model a scene involving the 3rd Amoconian Armored Rail Battalion, of a private militia in northern Illinois (Rondout) defending the last boxcar load of their favorite ale from marauding Regular Army and Navy troops based at Great Lakes Naval Base in N. Chicago.
Of course it will be in my regular medium of 1/160th (N Scale) so it will go onto my layout in the end.

Is this unacceptable? I know that it should represent regular army, but, I do have Regular troops involved even though I have them as the "bad guys".

Lemme know,
Cuhail

Why sure - it's just fine! There really isn't a "regular army" anymore in the world of T2K to speak of, except for some isolated and special circumstances. In your area, that band would be fine.

Defending a boxcar full of ale? I could redeploy members of the 12th Keenan's Own Central Indiana Irregulars to assist. It will take us a month at least to get there...
(It's a long walk.)

Great idea and fits in well with the spirit of the original game.

Keenan my comrade,
Forget walking, I'll send a consist to pick you up in Porter Co. in about a week. Just give me a total on bodies and equipment so I'll know what to send. We actually have three cars full of Harp and Guiness, but, that ale is something special.

Cuhail,

I love it!! It must be part of the hobby...I've considered beer for a T2 K dio as well...admittedly not a train load, but...

And Keenan, glad to see the troops out of Indiana making a return appearance!

Great idea Cuhail. Have always admired your ability to work in that scale. Your eyes are obviously better than mine.

Why not HO? I'll tell ya.

More room for more stuff in N. Even if I do have to scratch build most of the equipment. And honestly, I really like the scale my Dad left to me. I kinda feel a little closer to the man since I lost him when I was seven.
Tread, my eyes aren't the problem with a good magnif. glass. But these damn bulbous man-hands I have tend to get in the way! :-)

Beer- The cause of, and cure for, most of life's little problems!

Now, keep in mind, the main dio in my basement, is approx. 10'X5' and covers a scale 4square miles. It represents an area 25 square miles, though condensed a bit.

And that is only the first side of the room and that's only if I don't, move the whole she'bang up to the TWO front rooms on the first floor. :-)
It could happen. My Mrs. says when Sam (my step daughter) gets into the teenage years, she gets the basement in which my layout is now currently occupying. In trade, I would get Sam's current room AND the extra bedroom we use as a toy/play room.
I can run track around all four walls in the playroom as long as I put a doorway 'tween the two.
Now THAT'S the beginning of an awesome military diorama.
HO... go ahead, lot's of stuff out there in HO. I can't do it though.
