Hi all,
I'd like to know if there's any interest in a campaign about amphibious vehicles.
Amphibious vehicles, or simply "amphibs", have proven their value from World War 2 till today. Vehicles like the DUKW are almost legends.
This campaign is about any amphib from pre-ww2 to modern. So, think about Vickers amphibious tanks, LVT's, DUKW's, Ford GPA's, Schwimmwagens, Tauchpanzers etc.
Diorama's are of course welcome, but not needed
Possible start date: August or September?
If you're interested or if you've got any ideas, please post it here!
Greetings,
Martin

Ok, great to see there is interest in such a campaign...
How do you feel about the start date I had in mind...is it ok, or maybe too late or too early?

No promises yet but it would give me an excuse to start building an EFV. Start sounds good but make it about 5-7 months, depending on how others feel.

I'm in.
Why do all these campaigns kick off after I have a good amount done on a kit that would qualify? Working on a LVTP7 right now, from Trumpeter. Iknow, I know, it is ugly, I agree...
Oh well, I can build those LVT's I have in the pile...

Curious that a similar group build was brought up today on Fine Scale Modeler's website, Amphibious Vehicle Group Build.
I've got several kits I could crank out for an amphibious build.

I was thinking about a scale from 1:72 to 1:16.....
1:72 for those who like their little vehicles...
...and 1:16 for those who want to buy an Eduard Schwimmwagen
And there's enough in 1:35 and even in 1:48...

I just bought the DUKW on Saturday. I also have a Hasegawa Schwimmwagen, Attack Hobby Schwimmkorper (for the Pz 38t), Dragon AAV7A1 AMTRAC, Airfix LVT Water Buffalo, PST PT-76, PST BTR-50PK, Esci M113A1, Esci M901 ITV, Revell TPz 1 Fuchs, Revell SpPz Luchs, and I think the Revell Marder 1A3 is amphibious. Trust me, I've got enough amphibious stuff in 1/72 scale.
I would join the GB here over FSM. The FSM group build threads stretch into 20-30 page monsters that become impossible to follow. The Tank Destroyer GB over there is on page 14 and the no one has even fleshed out GB guidelines (rules) yet.
