I also finished my Ardennes Entry. However photo posting and I do not get along, but there are pictures of my SS-Sturmmann MG-42 gunner in my Kitmaker Gallery. Also some pictures of a Jagdpanther and Pz IIIJ. WOW 2 group builds completed, I'm on a roll. Thanks all. Chief out!

lol ok now then
you have a strange gallery.....not that what's in it is strange, wonderfull models, no doubt, but you can't use the simple copy function for quickly posting pics, you need the entire url (which can be found by rightclicking on the image and selecting the lowest option)

Nice looking figure you've got there ...The only thing a bit strange is you have his helmet cover in an SS pattern but his winter suit is in an army camo pattern ...I'm sure this could have happened but it would be rare...

Wow! That's a beautiful figure. I like the straps and the wooden handle of the shovel. Looks like real leather and real wood.
You can improve it by putting chipped paint on the gas-mask canister. Also, I'm not sure if I'm right but isn't the canteen supposed to be painted brown/leather? Most of the German figs I've seen have brown/leather canteens.
By the way, how did you do the splinter camouflage pattern? I'm really at a loss on how to paint that kind of pattern. Can you teach me?

Angela,
I'm not sure if I'm right but isn't the canteen supposed to be painted brown/leather? Most of the German figs I've seen have brown/leather canteens.
German canteens were covered with wool felt, usually field gray or a brown shade. Sometimes they were covered with other cloth like cotton corderoy.
By the way, how did you do the splinter camouflage pattern?
I painted the base color with Tamiya Field Gray, then added the color patches etc. afterwards. I think the helmet came out the best of all. I'm not sure if I'd be the best at teaching you how, its my first figure. The one thing I can say for sure is ...Take your time and be patient. HTH

Thats great! I like his face, he really looks tired. His ammo box seems to be at bit of an odd angle though. And I wouldn't fancy carrying and MG42 on a sling like that. No wonder he looks tired.

Dave...The WWII German Ammo box had the handle off-set to one side and not on the centerline of the lid, so it naturally hung at an angle.
Brian....It is actually a DML 1/16 scale. My next figure in the "on deck" circle is a DML 1/16 WWII British Airborne Paratrooper. Thanks guys!
