This book is dedicated to all the millions of men, women, and children who fought against the aggressors and oppressors so others still taste freedom. And especially all those men and women who answered the call from LTG James E. Moore, JR. (Ret) the first Divisional Commander of 7 US Infantry Division Light's Lightfighters to raise up and fight for their country and freedom.

I am not writing this book to point fingers as my predecessors have done. My goal is not to state who and how they did it, but why it happened. I will attempt to do this through the eyes of one individual who lived during these troubled times, which I'll address shortly. It's been one hundred years since the Twin Towers were destroyed in a terrorist attack. These towers were located in the city of New York in the state of New York, in the country of the United States of America. Some researchers state that this was the start of the end. Others claim it was the American president George Bush's invasion of Iraq and Afghanistan, or the escalation of hostilities between Israel and the Arab nations. Yet, still others say it was the second Korean War or the rebirth of the United Soviet Socialist Republics and the New Warsaw Pact in 2010 and the invasion of Europe. Maybe it was the invasion of the United States of America by the new USSR and her allies in 2013. The final opinion would be World War III, starting in 2012 and ending with the Nuclear War of 2015.
What I ask and want to know is Why and How it happen? What finally brought the total collapse of civilization?
I decided to do my research on the small groups of freedom fighters who rose up and defended their country and freedom against the invading, occupational forces, the raiding gangs, the warlords, etc. I started out by visiting a local historical archive that held microfilm, old newspapers, letters, etc from this era. It was here I found a reference of a group of these freedom fighters that fought in and around Yukon, Missouri. As I dug deeper, I found hidden away a few underground newspapers from Houston, Missouri published between 2013 and 2021. Not only did it mention these freedom fighters, but listed rumored and confirmed names and gave rumored locations of where they fought out of.
Thus began my quest to find the truth of these freedom fighters' Defenso ad Ultimum - "Defend to the last"
So, off I went looking for these unsung heroes and heroines, where they lived, fought and some died. Using ancient maps of the Yukon, Missouri area and the GPS (Global Positioning System), I finally arrived. After traveling for many long and tiring days, I decided to stop enjoy the rare beauty. As I began to explore the area, I soon discovered some ruins, which if they could talk would say I have secrets and stories to tell. So, I started to dig in and around the ruins. I found military equipment and weapons of that time frame. However, I couldn't stop, something kept me digging even deeper. Finally, after I had dug down to about 12 feet, I discovered a well-protected and preserved chest. After a very tiring effort, I was able to remove the chest from the hole I opened it. What I really shocked me, wasn't the flags, uniforms, photographs, drawings, etc that I found, but a ledger with the words "My Life as a Light Fighter" on the cover. I opened the cover very carefully and on the inside cover was written the name Edward Geer, SSG (retired) 7 Infantry Division (Light), a fighter for freedom. The remainder of this ledger was his diary starting in 2012 and ending in 2020 (1). After reading this diary, it would change my views on how it happened and the end result is this book. His first entry was a quote from a Professor Dimitriy Manuilskiy; Lenin School of Political Warfare, he came across while he was in the United States Army.
"War to the hilt between communism and capitalism is inevitable. Today, of course, we are not strong enough to attack. Our time will come in 30-40 years. To win, we shall need the element of surprise. The western world will have to be put to sleep. So we will begin by launching the most spectacular peace movement on record. There shall be electrifying overtures and unheard of concessions. The capitalist countries, stupid and decadent, will leap at another chance to be friends. As soon as their guard is down, we shall smash them with our clenched fist"
Professor Manuilskiy made this statement in 1930. This same quote would be discovered later in an archaeological excavation of the United States Naval Postgraduate School located near the former city of Monterey, California, United States of America. The archaeologists believe this building was used to teach Operational Research and Intelligence (2).
Of all the entries he made that stood out was his last entry dated July 3, 2020. He wrote the following. Today is July 3, 2020, a typical hot and humid day in Missouri. As I wrote this, I can't help but wonder what tomorrow will bring and how we got to this point. Two weeks ago, the other leaders and myself meet to decide if we would join the other sectors for major offensive operations against the Soviets, Cubans, and the United South American Socialistic Republics to begin liberation of America. What better date then our own Independence Day, July 4th?
We've been ready now for 3 days and the tension is very high you can almost see it. The adrenaline levels in the groups steadily growing for days and their nerves stretched to their limits. So far, for most of the day everybody has been basically keeping to themselves. Can't help but to wonder what they have been thinking about? If they are thinking like me it would be things such as all the loved ones who have haven't seen in a very long time or have died, how and why we came to this. Will the attack tomorrow be successful? Will I live to see America free once more or will I be killed during the battle. I guess the only ones that will ever truly know would be God and themselves.
I can't help wonder how tomorrow's battle will turn out. I pray to God that we will be very successful and the rest of America will soon join the battle for independence. For if we fail, who knows what the future will bring. Will America become nothing more then a chapter or two in a history book, if even that much? If our enemies have it their way, they would teach that America was nothing more then a warmongering, conqueror of nations, oppressor of the poor and helpless, self-serving and self-center. But hopefully, history will record that America, even when it seemed like she is defeated can still raise up and fight for and defend freedom for all.
Right, now I can hear Bob is upstairs looking over the battle plans for tomorrow's attacks. Smoke from the cooking fire is slowly drifting down here and is carrying the wonderful stew that Sally has made for us.
