Entry number two is my Hobby Fan Cougar. The kit was built OOTB except for the Maple Leaf Models tires and the armoured block to cover the optics hole on the Scorpion turret that Canada does not use.

The kit was made to look like the real one pictured below (with a few exceptions). The photo was take by Jim Carswell at an air show at CFB Namao (north of Edmonton,Alberta,Can.) sometime in the late '80s .It was part of a recruiting display for the South Alberta Light Horse.

The only weathering done to it was some pigment powder to the lower hull.

I'm not too familiar with the real vehicle, but that looks pretty good to me! I like the recruiting sign, adds a neat individual touch.

I personally think that it's a job well done. I took the first two pictures from your post, and tried to compare them... (the real vehicle and the model) and I could see almost no difference.

Everything is 100% simmilar

Job well done!

That's a wonderful comparison between the original and yours - Quality job.

Is the sign dry transfers?

Your way to much of a model nerd for me. Hahaha, :-)
That is GREAT! Really! You did a fantastic job of that. When I opened the link and saw the first picture I said to myself, if he's doing this, he can really blow it. (with the sign) and my friend, you are 100% dead on. Congrats! Personally, I'd be proud to put that on my self and that's the first time that I ever told anyone that. So, take it for what its worth. Enjoy what you've done.

Jim

It's an excellent job. The accuracy is uncanny. I was going to comment on the cleanliness, but remembered that it would have been cleaned up for public viewing.

My only complaint is that you stole my idea for a millitia recruiting stand.

I'm not familiar with these vehicles so it was nice to be able to compare yours to the real thing... splendid job, Jim. I like the subtlety of the weathering.
Also, hats-off for the sign. Nice build.

Thanx all for the comments.
As for the sign ....well trade secret......just kidding.
I came up with the sign as a total fluke. When I was working on the kit I printed out some pictures of it on 4x6 photo paper. One of the pics was of the side with the sign.Low and behold it was the exact size I needed. So in other words,I cut it out and Tamiya taped it on.
Thanx again guys,Jim
