I have bought the Dragon "Tiger B - Ardennes" - a kit with minor issues - but otherwise a splendid kit.

Kit number is 6232.

The kit includes the late smooth gun mantle, the 18 toothed driveweels and the singlepiece tracks, here goes the questions:

When did production of this variant begin?

The instructions show the fitting og the jack on the rear - to my knowlege the jack was omitted on the late version?

I guess the none of the late types was fitted with zimmerit, but were any older versions updated so that zimmerit and late tracks goes together?

I havent been able to find any referance pic on late types with the smooth mantles - anyone who can point me in the right direction ?

Is a hardedge "ambush scheme" relevant for this kit ?

Hello Mr Mox ..Dragons kit is actually not a late at all but is one of maybe 6 KT belonging to the 506 Schwere Panzerabteilung..These vehicles still had the zimmerit coating and the jacks were still on the vehicles ...they were used to test the new track system which was then re-introduced in March of 45 on the production line.. So this kit is made to be a very specific type at a precise time ..here is a picture of one of these vehicles.

HI, I see that this kit has what appears to be the rear plate for the Hunting Tiger on one of the spures. Wonder if Dragon is about to release a new tooled kit of this vehicle before too long? We hope anyway.

Take care, Sgirty
