Hi Gang,
Here's a little something, I've been working on as a sidestep. It's Tamiya's Panzer IV ausf. J with Eduard Zimmerit, that came with the kit.
It still needs to get the detail painting, washes and dry-brushing. Also the mud still has to be applied.
I replaced the vinyl Tamiya tracks for DML indies...
Let me know what you think, 'cos German armor is not exactly my cup of tea....YET!!!
Grtz, John.

Hi John,
Looks good, Tamiya kits go together so well. You mentioned the Eduard set that came with the kit, what exactly is on the fret? I am curious to know befor I buy the kit.
Regards,
Robert

Hi Robert,
On the PE frets is the complete Zimmerit for the model, no other PE is in it than the Zimmerit. I have to confess I had my reservations, but I must say it fitted like a glove, and I'm quite satisfied with the results sofar....

Nice looking Panzer IV John ...I've been wondering about that P/E Zimmerit but you make it look good! I'd try and make it stand out a bit more with maybe another wash or some dry brushing on the tops of the ridges...One thing I noticed is you should add some wear and tear to the hangers on the sides of the tank..at least on the teeth where the armor plates hang .. Also be careful when numbering your tanks ...I'm not sure of this particular vehicle but usually numbers ending in 00 are command tanks which mean the stowage is different and ther sould be another antennae mounted ...but you might be right with this one ..Good job all round...I love those redbrown and yellow schemes..

Very clean build, I've hung my nose over this one in my LHS, but it is very pricey (£38 I think). However it looks from your photos as though it's worth it, that Zimmerit does look very good & I suppose you pay for the relative ease of the Eduard pieces over messing about with putty. Strangely the Panther with Zimmerit is about £5 less...

Nice clean build, and I really like your camo scheme. Something about the Dunkelgelb/Rotbraun scheme that always seems to look cool.
You did a real nice job on the decals too. Are they kit decals, or dry transfers ?

Alpen

Ciao John,
I meant to compliment you a couple of days ago, but didn't get the chance. You did really great job for someone whose cup of tea isn't German Armor!
Ciao for now
Rob

John, your Pz IV looks great!
I'll sing along with the others on the brown camouflage scheme. It's really nice.

Thanks for the positive comments, Guyz.
This kit was a joy to build, and I must say that the Eduard Zimmerit came out better than expected.
@Alpen: Yes these are the kit's decals, I applied them directly on the paint, using Micro Set and Sol. After that a liberal coat of matt laquer....
