So... the campaign's being going since mid-Feb '05... at this time there are some 21 participants... but no Discussion Group in CCC and no gallery... and even worse no talk about what we are doing or have done...
This arrived in the mail a week ago, and I started prepping it last night...
It's the Andrea 54mm SM-F22 Templar Knight (c.1200) (pics from the Andrea site)
I just hope I can do the brother knight justice...

Hi Rudi
Your right, it has been rather quiet around this campaign.
I did make journal entries, until it was closed.
I'm making good progress, on my little two knight vignette. Will have a few progress pictures for you soon.

Hi Jasper
Thank's for the update. It was actually your post about the 2 figures you are entering for this fantastic campaign that inspired me to start this thread.
I'm looking forward to seeing your pictures.
I started trimming the seams off the 3 main castings and minor filing last night. there wasn't much to do though, and the castings were pretty clean. I should finish off the arms and weapons tonight.

I painted a few details, in oil's, a couple of days ago. As soon as they are dry enough, for handling, I'll take some pictures.

Hi, Rudi,Jesper,
I'm doing this one for the campaign.
I've done the chain mail and basic black but not much else yet.
I will pobably just use the base it came with as I'm not into bases yet and also have no matrials to do it with.
YET!!
All the best

Hi guys
I have taken a few pictures, of my two knights. The pictures didn't turn out to good. Here are the two best pictures.
They are painted in enamels, acrylics and oils. I have bought some dry transfers, from Andrea, for the heraldry.
I'll have some more progress pictures for you soon.

Here's my last progress shot of the Andrea 54mm knight Templar. This is prior to gap filling and priming, which has since been completed. I am now ready to start the face - SWMBO permitting... :-) :-) :-) :-)

Excellent choice of figure Toke. The flag looks like a difficult paintjob.

I have finished painting my two knights. Only need to do some final assembly and a few touch up's.
I have made a celloclay base, which I base coated last night. Hopefully Í'll have time to weather it tonight.

Great job Zwan!
Here is my latest update...
After deciding I didn't like the face as I had done in in Humbrols, I decided to give oils a try... 1st time ever... They were great to work with, but I'm not sure if i'm happy with the results... perhaps I should have left good enough alone...
Opinions?
Rudi

Rudi
Good first time attempt
couple of hints
1. use less paint, oils tend to build up and "glob" leaving little ridges and bumps.
2. Do not try to be "Too subtle" in your highlight vs shadow contreast, particularly at 54mm. Oil blends so easy it is sometimes easy to blend away all your work and effort.
3. Wipe and start again... one thing nice about oil if you really do not liket he looks while you are painting, simply wipe it away and start all over.
Good Luck
