Hey i am building acadamy's hellcat! The Model is not the best from Acadamy, i wish i have bought some update sets to it! but my my bank advisor would probaly disagree, what a misbelive in a a youngster who have a visacard! LOL. Okay the bad things about the kit is the tracks and lightguards and i have had problems with some of the fit especialy the interior! Well here are some photo of what i have painted!
the chair is not finished while i need the brown paint! Eh i have thought about covering the shells! because i thinks the cast of the shells looks a bit ugly,

Hi Daniel. Ive made this model as well.
Don´t worry or get hung about details here. Paint the shells, with brass, highlight the top with gold and silver mixed, and add a heavy black pin wash around them. paint the chairs and little detail around the crew hatches. Add a few bits of figure storage for colour. A little chipping and sratches on the sides will also be noticeable .. if you care to add them.
When the turret is in place, not much of this will be seen. Your really are only going for an impression of what was there ... cause unless you use an interior lighting system ... the most wont be seen. What you have done so far is excellent, and will be perfect when she is closed up.
If you want to add a bit extra .. do so in the turret area, because much more of this is visible. Also "go to town" with added stowage on the outside ... this is what really adds to this kit. Verlinden have a set to dress this up, but its mostly stowage to add after building.
Good luck with the rest!

I think it is coming along very well. As was said, do not worry about the shells as once the turret is in place not much will be seen in the hull interior. Will wait for further progress reports. Keep up the good work!

Daniel,
Looking good so far. I do like your chipping and weathering of the interior so far. I built this kit and the AFV Club M-18 for the Tank terror campaign. I think the Academy kit is superior to the AFV but the tracks are not the best on either.
I look forward to seeing more progress pictures!
