Hi
Today it is T34-day :-) I finally have some spare time to work on Dragon's German T34. I build the kit OOTB and it was a real joy to do. I added some minor extras. (some of them are incorrect ) I tried to add some wiring, some turret texture and extra welding. I only painted the base coat with the usual errors There are some water spots because I spilled them accidentely over the model and some paint was scaped off on the gunbarrel and on the turret. But I can easily fix that. If you have any questions please ask me
Here are some pics:

Ola Jurjen, marvelous work!!!
I have few suggestions if i may?
On last pic there is a noticable glue on small MG hull, either will whole space with glue or try to deal with it, the MG looks fantastic but that glue makes it less nicer (at least to me)
Secondly (and its again just me) maybe you should bent the front fenders more od damage them, i dont think germans captured almost brand new tank and doubtfylly they surely didint have new spare ones to put them on
Othervise, a marvelous build and extra detailing!
cheers
Mirko

Hoi Jurjen.
Looks very cool, and I like your scheme.
One question. How did you do the decals? I've always trouble with those things
Owja I don't like the color frokm the cable (that red color).
Is that usual? Becouse It is not a a color that would be used ihn the army.
Still a great tank. What your next project??
Greetz Hilbert
Edit: i'm really really stupid, I see now it isn't painted.

What about divisional and formation markings? Also, the style of the crosses is atypical. Normally they would be much larger (however both styles can be seen on different vehicles). Some vehicles also had the cross painted on the top of the turret...
Apart from that, it's looking very good indeed - I particualrly like the texturing on the turret...Jim

Interesting point Jim. To be honest - I don't have any idea. I have only used the kit decals. But I have never seen any pic with division markings but only with some crosses. But I can be wrong offcourse
The texture on the turret was quite easy to do. The only things you need are some putty, scrotchbite and aceton. Just aplie some putty, spread it with aceton and then give it some texture with the scrotchbite.
Cheers!

The problem with these vehicles is there is no conceivable 'logic' as to what vehicles carried what markings - I have seen a GD vehicle with the Div. symbol painted under the cross, others with none whatsoever and even (on a number of vehicles) with large swastikas painted (whitewashed?) on the turret...
This is the best website for all the variations you could ever imagine: http://beute.narod.ru/ it also has the most surprising vehicles as well....Jim

I agree with the above comments thus far. I particularly agree with Jim's observation about the cross on the top of the turret, or even for that matter on the top panels of the hull of the tank.
Panzer crews would be very weary of some over-zealous Luftwaffe Stuka pilot taking pot shots at them.
I see as I was about to suggest flags, Jim posted some pics about them... these would make a lot more sense as they could easily be displayed and removed depending on who's territory the tank was crossing.....
My 2 cents...

The red flag would be - I think - a good thing to add. It will also break the monotone colour
Thanks for the pointer!

You made a good choice with that kit - the subject of the 'Beute Panzers' is one of the richest possible modelling themes out there.I'm currently working on a captured KV2 (in Italy, would you believe?) .. The best I have seen so far, are pictures of Shermans captured by the Soviets after they had been captured by the Germans from the Americans - makes the head spin :-) ...Jim
